Chinese Traditional Culture And The Construction Of Socialist Core Values

Core Socialist Values are comprehensively demonstrated the first time in The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC).In the meantime,the whole Party and the people were urged to actively cultivate and practice the Values.Just as Chinese President Xi Jinping had pointed out:"The splendid Chinese traditional culture are the spirit of our nation,the origin of core socialist values,and the cornerstone in the international cultural agitation".Therefore,I choose Chinese Traditional Culture and the Construction of Core Socialist Values as the research topic of my doctoral dissertation,intending to deepen the understanding of our splendid traditional culture to the cultivation and practice of core socialist values.The thesis is divided into 7 chapters as follows:Chapter One,Introduction.This part mainly introduces the purpose and value of the topic by combing the research achievements at home and abroad,and puts forward the research ideas,research methods and innovations parts.Chapter Two,the generating mechanism of Chinese traditional culture and the communication channels of mainstream values.Chinese traditional culture was originated on the vast land of China,rooted in a feudal patriarchal political system with the predominant economic foundation of agriculture and the kinship ties,which characterizes the diversed culture in unity with inclusive centripetal ethic force.Through social advocacy,school education,family education,as well as secularization of classic culture,Chinese traditional culture is able to spread widely and been accepted by the mass,realizing the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture.Chapter Three,the core value of Chinese traditional culture and the develop predicament.The Chinese traditional culture is of great humanistic value with its fundamental based on care for people,ultimate goal for humanity and the cultivation of humanity.Chinese traditional culture has a strong public support,infiltration in the depths of the soul of the whole nation with a huge audience.The contemporary value of the Chinese traditional culture is to provide spiritual consolation for people,to promote the construction of national soft power,to lead the social ethos,to save the lost value,and to provide support for the construction of Core Socialist Values.Chapter Four,the connotation of Core Socialist Values.Firstly,define the connotation of value,values and core values.Then define the characteristics and essence of Core Socialist Values.The Core Socialist Values is the unification of core value and social system,the ideal and reality,the diversity and unity,the nationality and times,the stability and development;in the meanwhile,characterized by the people,the science,the nationality and openness.Finally,the author expounds the international and domestic background of cultivating and practicing Core Socialist Values,which shows that the cultivation and practice of Core Socialist Values is the foundation of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics,the need of the development of socialist advanced culture,and the driving force for the realization of the Chinese Dream.Chapter Five,the consistency of the Chinese traditional culture and Core Socialist Values.Chinese traditional culture is the "root" and "soul" of our nation(Quoted Xi Jinping).The Chinese traditional culture is the root of the construction of Core Socialist Values.The pricipal part of value and evaluation between Chinese traditional culture and Core Socialist Values both are the people,and both of them share distinctive democratic essence.They are both open and developing systems with inclusiveness,therefore,they are easy to get close to and easy for integration.One basic characteristic of Chinese traditional culture and Core Socialist Values is the unifications of nationality,the advancement and the mass,the reality and transcendence.However,Chinese traditional culture and Core Socialist Values have distinct differences in economic and ideological foundation and the class stands.Chapter Six,the internal relation of Core Socialist Values and Chinese traditional culture.This chapter digs deep into the origins of the twelve elements in Core Socialist Values.Such as "Prosperity":People are the foundation of the country,the country will be safe if the foundation is firm;Far-sighted leaders will prosper his people first;As long as the people are prospered,the country will be strong and unbreakable.Then,the thesis elaborated on all the twelve elements of Core Socialist Values.Chapter Seven,to cultivate Core Socialist Values on basis of traditional culture.Based on traditional culture,the construction of Core Socialist Values should follow the basic principles as listed:adhere to the unity of criticism,inheritance and innovation;adhere to the Marxist guiding status in the field of ideology while actively absorbing the advanced culture worldwide.On the basis of traditional culture,the basic path for the construction of Core Socialist Values is publicity and education.Through various publicity channels,especially the new media,to create a strong public atmosphere and enlighten the masses;To cultivate role models,highlight the demonstration effect and exert influence to the public.Finally,by seting examples in party members,colleges and universities,the paper deep analysed how to build Core Socialist Values through education.
