The Kagerohu Diary is not only the one of the representatives of Japanese diary literature but the beginning of female diary literature in Heian area.Although diary literature belongs to the orthodox literature,it is relatively Marginalized. The generation of The Kagerohu Diary is of initiative significance to the creation of female diary and also great significance to literature works in the style of diary. The characteristics of the diary style literature, such as authenticity and privatization, are consistent with the demands of the author of The Kagerohu Diary. In the diary, the author's true record of her own life experiences, exposure of her own emotions and observation of her inner thoughts have exerted profound influence on the diary literature,self-reflection literature and self-fictions of the later generations. This dissertation starts with the nihility and dispossessed self-perception that the author narrates in the foreword, adopts such methods as close reading, psychological analysis and literature criticism, and combines with the knowledge concerning the psychology of memory, psychology of literature and art,and existential psychology in the organization and research of the content, the author's experiences and psychological changes and so on.Thus, the author's psychological characteristic of “anxiety” is excavated. On this basis, the correlation between anxiety and emptiness is analyzed, and the author's self-transcendence of anxiety and the endeavors to realize the value of her own existence are explored.Firstly, the development skeleton from “diary” to The Kagerohu Diary is organized in this dissertation, the name of this works is studied and analyzed, and the significance orientation and Chinese translation of “Kagerohu” are clarified. The background of the growth of the author, which is a literature creator,is explored in this paper, which aims at revealing the possibility that the author's literature accomplishments provide to her diary creation. The author Fujiwaranomititunanohaha was born in a local aristocratic and official family of the middle and lower class.Although her father didn't hold a superior official post,he had a remarkable ability in management and literature accomplishments, which provides a favorable material basis and family cultural atmosphere to the author's growth. The author's life was in a relatively narrow scope, and most of her life experiences and personal feelings were related with her family members. This dissertation briefly organizes the interpersonal relationships of the author, clarifies the important role that her husband played in relevant social relations, and discusses the author's dependency and emotional expectation towards her father, husband and son.In this dissertation, the narration of the diary and relevant psychological performance are analyzed and discussed, which aims at organizing the author's journey of the heart. In her married life, the author suffered from extreme psychological blow and pressure because of her husband's emotional abandonment and gradual estrangement, and the seperation of her family members. The reality compelled the author to struggle through the transition from a daughter to a wife and a mother under these experiences.During this process, tremendous negative emotions piled up deep down in the author's heart, and her mental state also witnessed some continuous changes.Based on the author's specific psychological performance, this dissertation organizes the emotional words in this diary.A lot of negative emotions are reflected in this diary, and they are generally boiled down to “anxiety” in psychology. The author's nihility is closely bound up with the accumulation of her anxious emotions. The memory of anxious emotions is the pull wire in the author's creation of the diary. It can be found through the organization of the anxious emotions that the author's anxiety experienced a process of evolution from incubation to outburst and decline. The pursuit of liberation from the anxiety reflects the author's psychological selfgrowth. To a certain extent, natural and religious activities, and literature creation alleviated and pacified the author's anxiety, and purified her spirit and soul.Although The Kagerohu Diary takes the conjugal relations between the author and her husband as the principal line,it also implies the author's exploration of her own value in the existence of anxiety. This paper probes into the author's selfawareness,self-reflection and self-identification,and analyzes the boundedness in the author's self-awareness and the author's dependency and expectation for the identification of others and the society. The author lived in the transition from the matriarchal society to the patrilineal society in Japan.Due to the deficiency in the source of finance and lack of social identity and power, the author was compelled to depend on men in life. However, the author could depend on her own ability in literature creation and energetically facilitate her husband and her son's literary and artistic activities in a relatively less independent life, and implement her original intention of recording her real experiences through the creation form of diary, which is different from false Monogatari at that time.To a certain extent, the author acquired the confirmation of her own existence through diary, and proved and realized the value and significance of her own existence through the literature creation of diary.
