"Vocabulary" as the building materials of language,is an important part of language."Words with same morpheme" and words group are learning and teaching emphases and difficulties of Chinese learners in Thailand.Thai students who learning Chinese words with the same morpheme often made mistakes,it has a certain relationship with the words with same morpheme of difficulty level.For this purpose,this study is based on the theory of comparative linguistics,Chinese as a second language teaching,second language acquisition theory and cognitive linguistics theory as the theoretical basis of research.Through the combing and analysis of the related research on the words with same morpheme,starts out by looking at the teaching of Chinese words with same morpheme in Thailand,by means of corpus analysis,investigation and interview in Thailand found that it does not match the words with same morpheme in Chinese students' learning problems.This study also points out that Outline of HSK vocabulary and Chinese characters and Developing Chinese Elementary,Intermediate and Advanced Comprehensive Course(volume ?-?),have teaching difficulty in level which did not match in design and practice.According to Lado(1957),the comparison between two languages reveals their differences,then words that share same meaning,structure and identical morpheme are considered easy to learn,while those without same meaning,structure and identical morpheme can be predicted to be difficult points.On the basis of comparative,analysis of Thai and Chinese words with same morpheme is then conducted mainly by comparing its semantic features,this study first divides Thai and Chinese words with same morpheme into 3 categories according to their semantic characteristics:complete correspondence,partial correspondence and non correspondence,while other linguistic features are being applied as well,such as structure,identical morpheme and syntactical features.C.Prator and Ellis' Hierarchy of Difficulty models are deployed to predict the six-level hierarchy of learning difficulty of words with same morpheme,it is mainly based on the four criteria of common morpheme,namely components,meaning,part of speech and usage as the analysis parameter standard.Apart from the comparison of the two languages,this study also emphasizes on the native characteristics of the vocabulary,levels of students and other problems that may appear while learning words with same morpheme.This study has divided learning difficulty of words with same morpheme into 6 levels.In order to validate the prediction proposed in this study,a questionnaire of 91 word groups(total 120 words)is designed to study Thai students' understanding of words with same morpheme.The object of the survey is 136 3rd year students are took as study object of intermediate Chinese and 99 4th year students are took as study object of advanced Chinese,mainly to analyzed the words with same morpheme of error rate by Thai students,and the corresponding situation of each grade of words were analyzed.After that,the words with same morpheme is determine in the difficult point,analyze the cause of the difficulty of the investigation and induction and analysis of Thailand students' errors based on the words with same morpheme.The survey result shows:The prediction proposed by the author and the survey result differ in certain degree.The prediction proposes that level of difficulty ranged from level one<level two<level three<level four<level five<level six,while the survey result demonstrates the fact that level of difficulty ranges from level one<level two<level three? level four<level six?level five.Level one and two of the words with same morpheme difficulty level is lower,which difference in Chinese and Thai languages is small,where usage is not complex,but also has the corresponding common morpheme,which helps easy to learn.The difficulty difference of level three and level four,due to the cross in two languages problem,the words difficulty is difficult to clearly divided,so the two grade range can also belong to the same stage.Take level five and level six for examples,level five may be a little more difficult than level six.The reason is the usage of words in level five can be overlapping,and no correspondence in Thai Chinese words can be found.This greatly increases difficulty for learners.The words in level six contains many similar word entries but the usage are obviously different,where the severity and scope caused by different semantic words.The conclusion of this investigation data analysis shows that the acquisition and understanding of words with same morpheme of Thai students,both in intermediate and advanced level,have not yet reached a certain standard.Caused by the language is difference,coupled with the corresponding where morpheme is common or not,metaphorical meaning and scope of such problems often caused the increasing of the difficulty.Although there are a lot of Chinese word meaning than Thai,the scope of application Thai than Chinese is more widely,which led to the Thai students can not have a good command on words with same morpheme.Therefore,the conclusion of the study on Thai and Chinese words with same morpheme has a certain degree of help for the teachers and learners.Lastly,the difficulty level of application analysis in the words with same morpheme in Thai and Chinese teaching,establish the importance of the difficulty in teaching words with same morpheme,and put forward the problems of arrangements on teaching and editing the difficulty level of the words with same morpheme in Chinese teaching in Thailand,raise the improvement suggestions,promote the construction and revision of the Thai and Chinese words with same morpheme.This paper was the first to comprehensive analysis the circumstance of corresponding words with same morpheme in Thai language,and summarizes the rules of corresponding.The research on Chinese teaching in Thailand on the difficulty of words with same morpheme is listed in the grade of difficulty and the difficulty level prediction results can be applied in practical teaching.
