Guang Xuan Poetics Research

The study of poetics in the late Qing Dynasty is a hot topic for discussion in academic research.Although some achievements have been made,few studies have attached to the overall study on the poetry in the Guang Xuan period.Based on the traditional poetry,this paper constructs the overall frame of the poetics in this period from the synchronic and diachronic perspectives.At present,two trends were presented in the academic study of poetics in the late Qing Dynasty: the analysis of the poetry schools and the analysis of poets and their poetic thoughts.But the trend of the whole poetry theory research is not obvious.This paper discusses the poetry in the late Qing Dynasty from seven aspects.First,the overall characteristics of the Guang Xuan poetry.Second,the trend of “back to the ancient” and the differences in various poetry schools when learning the ancient theory.Third,the deep precipitation and its significance of emotional theory of Chinese classical poetry in this period.Fourth,the spirit of elegance and a new stage of changes in different poetry schools.Fifth,the specific embodiment of “internal saint external king” in traditional poetry during this period.Sixth,the basic trend of Chinese classical poetics in the transitional period.Seventh,the overall review of Chinese classical poetics and the relationship between the Guang Xuan poetry and the poetry in the Republic of China.Owing to the plurality of poetry schools during Guang Xuan period,the poetic theory is relatively abundant.In general,it has shown a contention of hundred schools of thought boom.The trend of "back to the ancient" dominated in Guang Xuan poetry,and the biggest characteristic of "back to the ancient" lies to its absorption and appreciation from China classical poetry.Although the retro trends of various poetry schools were same,there were still obvious differences in poetry theories.The special epoch character in last phase of an age laid the poets' sentiments about emotional theory.However,it is worth noting that poets in this period started to pay attention to the individual's emotion.Furthermore,they have integrated new thoughts into the theory of emotion and elegance.As a result of the collision between Chinese and Western learning,the Using Theory has played an important role in this period.Polarization has taken place among the Guang Xuan poets in terms of western poetry.The revolutionaries and reformists treat western poetry with a positive and open attitudes.On the contrary,the feudal conservatives were blindly against western learning.It is noteworthy that some of the Guang Xuan poets were good at using the doctrine of the mean to balance the view of western and eastern and form some concepts which were beneficial to the society.The restoration of poetics is the longing for the spirit of traditional arts,which is the return of the inner emotions,but it can not represent and control the direction of the development of poetry.In the process of China's modernization,the concept of literature and ideology of the Chinese bourgeoisie had set off a trend of ideological liberation.They promoted the change of content and form in the development of Chinese poetry history,and laid the foundation for the production of new poetry.In order to have an overall study of the poetry theory in the Guang Xuan period,four research methods were adopted in this study: literature research method,comparative method and qualitative analysis method combining with the method of induction and deduction.Based on literature study,through comparative analysis,this paper starts from the “focus” among different schools,and then establishes the research perspective which is of value in theoretical research.Through a comprehensive grasp of the historical significance of the Guang Xuan period and analysis of the embarrassment of Chinese Classical Poetry,the results obtained in this paper are as follows.At the first,the paper fully understands the status and characteristics of the classical poetry theory.Then,the thesis understands the attitudes of the poets of the Guang Xuan Parnassus and their changes in the thinking.This paper finally determines the significance of new poetry,and its emergence is a modification for Chinese classical poetry rather than damage.Guang Xuan period is a period that Chinese classical poetry gradually comes to an end,but there is also a comprehensive summary in classical poetry theory.Under the historical period of the transition from the old democratic revolution to the new democratic revolution,the new poems advocated by the Chinese bourgeoisie accelerated the final historical transformation of classical poetry.It also laid a solid theoretical foundation for the full arrival of the new culture movement of the Chinese proletariat.At the present time,the academic circles have not laid the whole attention to the theory of the Guang Xuan poetry,so the thesis has certain innovation significance to the study of the poetry theory in this period.In addition,from the content,the thesis has some enlightening significance to the further understanding of the state of the Chinese classical poetry theory in the period of Guang Xuan and the development of the relationship between classical poetry and new poetry.
