Chuan-qi drama is springing up in late Ming dynasty,which is not a simple historical and cultural phenomenon.The cause of this phenomenon is closely related with the social reality of Ming dynasty.In the early and middle period of Ming dynasty,both of playwrights from the royal family(Youdun Zhu and Quan Zhu)and the scholar-bureaucrat class(Jun Qiu)introduce Northern Zaju or Folk Nanxi into the national music system,in order to safeguard the rulers of authority.Thus,they highlight the political enlightenment function in their drama creation.Under the variation of society from Jia-jing period to late Ming dynasty,a group of scholar-bureaucrat class attempt to introduce the influence function into their Chuan-qi drama creation,in order to substitute the political enlightenment function of drama creation.There are two reasons can explain why they have this choice.One is that their Chuan-qi drama creation is more popular with the public than previous drama creation,because it's content close to people's life.Another is that they success to integrate their life ideal into the society development of late Ming dynasty through their Chuan-qi drama creation,in order to effect both moral concept and spirit world of different classes.It is resulted that the socialization of late Ming dynasty reaches at the higher level.In this paper,the interdisciplinary research methods is used to reveal the reason why Chuan-qi drama has "influence" function,and show the reformed process of drama function from enlightenment to influence,under the changes of Ming dynasty society.This article discussed the evolution process of drama creation,which has a function of influence,based on the historical periods when it's blooming in late Ming dynasty.The main study results are as follows:First of all,the penetration of orthodox ideology is strengthened in the creation of Northern Zaju.During Jia-jing period,the scholar-bureaucrat expect to maintain the political function of the upper mainstream consciousness in their heart of hearts,so they still choose "north sound" to create Northern Zaju.However,they realize that the enlightenment from the top-down is not feasible to transmit the orthodox consciousness to the public,so they choose lyrics with true feelings to realize the "penetration" of mainstream consciousness in their Northern Zaju creation.Second,the civilian consciousness is emerged in Folk Nanxi creation.Because this kind of scholar-bureaucrat class disappoint with the loose of mainstream consciousness in late Ming dynasty,they are not satisfied with the effect of the performance of mainstream consciousness on Northern Zaju creation.Thus,they attempt to create Folk Nanxi with civilian consciousness.They introduce civilian singing or common language into their Folk Nanxi creation respectively,in order to realize the communication of Confucianism in their creation.Third,the subjective consciousness is triggered in drama creation.Dring the Wanli period,a kind of scholar-bureaucrat are dissatisfied with the effect of the performance of orthodox consciousness on drama creation.Therefore,they realize that the focus of drama creation is theater design.A good and infectious theater design can resulted that the subjective consciousness is spontaneously inspired from the mind of person.Fourth,the good personality is pursued in Chuan-qi drama creation.Dring the Wanli period,a kind of scholar-bureaucrat put their focus of drama creation on settig up the relationship and interaction with the authors,the actors and the audiences.It is considered that they try to affect the mind of person to promote the shaping of healthy personality via the Chuan-qi drama creation resulting that Chuan-qi drama is endowed with influence function in this period.In the field of traditional art studies,the research object is usually focused on the form of drama performance,such as the manifestation of singing and performing,and the text of drama creation.In the research of drama text,researchers pay more attention to explain the script content and cultural connotations by the theoretical knowledge of traditional literature and history.In this paper,the author attempts to analyze the features of Chuan-qi drama in the way of singing,word choices,text and performance,which is created and modified by playwrights from the scholar-bureaucrat class.According to the above features of Chuan-qi drama,the role of Chuan-qi drama in the political and social effect of Ming dynasty is discussed.
