This paper combines two historical periods of the People's Revolutionary Party of Inner Mongolia(the PRPIM),one founded in 1925 and another announced the reorganization in 1945,researches the traditional rights of Inner Mongolia,modern theories of national self-determination and self-government(or autonomy)and the political purposes and the activities of the PRPIM.On the research method,this paper emphasizes a wide historical view,combines the macro comparison and microscopic analysis,putting the PRPIM's Inner Mongolian autonomous movement in the international and domestic context,research the historical role which the PRPIM played in the modern Inner Mongolian autonomous movement.This paper consists of three parts:introduction,main text and conclusion.Introduction includes the significance of the topic of this paper,the overview of relating studies,the purpose of this research,and the new points,the problems and illustration.Main text consists of five chapters.The first chapter discusses the foundation and background of PRPIM's Inner Mongolian autonomous movement.Specifically speaking,the first chapter includes the traditional rights of Inner Mongolia and its destruction,the situation of Inner Mongolia during the early period of the Republican China,and the initial impact of the theories of the self-determination and self-government on Inner Mongolia.The second chapter shows the international and domestic background of the establishment of the PRPIM,introduces the early activities of the political figures which related to the PRPIM,and their alliance under the leadership of the PRPIM,describes the foundation and the activities of the provisional Central Committee of the party.The third chapter includes the PRPIM's first congress,the party's army,local organization,propaganda and cadre training,and political military activities during 1925-1927,analysis the party,s concept and its influences to Inner Mongolian autonomous movement.The forth chapter accounts the internal separation of the party,the relationships between new Central Committee of the party and Inner Mongolian politics at the time,and the armed insurrections during 1928 in Inner Mongolia.The fifth chapter introduces the situation of the PRPIM during Japanese occupation,accounts the international and domestic background after the World War?,the announcement of the PRPIM's reorganization,and the establishment and early activities of its Eastern Mongolian Party Branch,discusses the relationship between the PRPIM and relating political power both international and domestic,accounts the disbanding of the party,and their participation into both the Association of Inner Mongolian Autonomous Movement and the establishment of Inner Mongolian Autonomous Government.The conclusion part summarizes the content of the paper,accounts the review of the history of the PRPIM,its influences to Inner Mongolian autonomous movement and the victory of Inner Mongolian autonomous movement under the leadership of Chinese Communist Party.
