From Time To Space - On The Construction Of Electronic Music Space Image

When electroacoustic music established as a new form of artistic expression,its potential in sound space performance has generated wide interest and attention.Whether in theoretical research or composing practice,predecessors have made many valuable results in exploring the electroacoustic music space performance.However,comparing the centuries systematic research in Pitch,Rhythm,Intensity,Sound etc.,the formal theoretical results related to music space still exist shortness.As more and more artists today recognize the importance of spatial manifestation in electroacoustic music,the corresponding practice has become more advanced and refined with the development of technology and creative thinking,comparably the theoretical research is in a relatively lagged state.The hysteresis of the study of electroacoustic music space theory lies first in the lack of the accurate definition for professional terminology,which not only reflects the ambiguity of the research objects and the lack of theoretical depth,but also brings the difficulties of academic communication.Through the reference and induction of predecessor’s achievements,this dissertation defines the concept of spatial image and points out the core position of Spatial Image construction in spatial composition and delivery for electroacoustic music.This dissertation discusses three main aspects of the construction in Spatial Image as followed:First,the classification of different types of Spatial Image.Second,the meaning and challenge of Spatial Image construction in electroacoustic music.Third,the concept and approach of Spatial Image construction in electroacoustic music.Finally,the dissertation summarizes the overall pursuit and development tendency of Spatial Image construction in electroacoustic music as resolution,supernaturalism and immersion.
