This thesis focuses on the construction and reconstruction of the expectation horizon of Chinese drama audience since the new period, starting with the interaction between the development of Chinese drama art and the expectation horizon of audience in the new period, the dynamic structure of drama production and acceptance is the basic analytical framework,the study of the evolution of drama art and the changes of social culture in the new period have a great influence on the structure of audience’s horizon of expectation and the acceptance criteria and appreciation of the audience, the changes of the expectation horizon of Chinese drama audience since the new period.The expectation horizon of the audience is not only connected with the audience’s acceptance of the drama, it also has a profound influence on the creation of drama and drama. Since the new period, dramatic art is more closely related to the audience and the relationship is more complex in the process of innovation breakthrough and advancing with the times. It can be said that under the interactive influence of the change of audience expectation horizon and the development of drama art, since the beginning of the new era, Chinese drama art has passed through the revival and crisis in the discourse of enlightenment, experienced the invasion and adjustment of mass culture, and ushered in the prosperity of the drama market since the new century, all these are closely related to the evolution of the expectation horizon of Chinese modern drama.Since the beginning of the new period, with the change of audience expectation horizon, the audience’s appreciation, appreciation, acceptance and aesthetic needs are also changing, it not only leads to the difference of the aesthetic expectation of the audience in different times, moreover, it directly influences the change of the principle of dramatic art creation and the change of drama aesthetics, so as to form different styles of drama art acceptance in different times. Therefore, the analysis and Research on the expectation horizon of the audience in the drama is not only of theoretical significance but also of great practical significance. On the one hand, the expectation horizon of the audience is inseparable from the drama creation, the analysis of the expectation of the audience is a problem that can not be ignored by the playwright, director and drama theorist. On the other hand, the expectation horizon of audience can not only reflect the specific acceptance of drama art, it also stipulates and restricts the future development of drama art.Part one, expound the acceptance characteristics of drama audience and the main character of expectation horizon. Drama audience group in the same time, in the same space to enjoy the show, watching drama as a collective experience, it has the characteristics of group, field, society and times, this not only plays a specific role in the audience’s acceptance and restriction, it also influences the construction and reform of the audience’s expectation horizon. In addition, the formation of the audience’s expectation horizon is regulated and restricted by the acceptance characteristics of drama art, the form and style of drama art, the aesthetic psychology of the audience, the social and cultural trend of thought and aesthetic fashion will play an important role in the formation of the audience’s expectation horizon.Second part, expound the 1980s drama audience’s innovation expectation for drama art. This makes the drama art to adjust its creative idea and expression means, the artistic style of drama began to regain its realism, the pioneer experimental drama refused to cater to the public taste, from the drama audience expectation horizon.Fourth part, from the multiple presentation of audience’s expectation horizon since the new century , expounds the closely connection between the diversified development of drama art and the audience’s expectation horizon. Since the new century,with the commercialization of the drama market, the intensification of entertainment and the emergence of the young audience, with the expansion of entertainment commercial drama, the introversion pioneer experimental drama and the spectacle of the theme drama,drama audience expectation horizon appears flattening, shrinkage and stabilization,further promote the interaction between the development of drama art and the audience’s expectation horizon, so that the new century since the creation of drama and drama audience acceptance presents new features.Drama audience’s expectation horizon as an important joint point of the dynamic mode of drama production, to set up a reference frame for the study of audience acceptance of contemporary Chinese drama, make the research have realistic meaning;the validity of theoretical construction. From the development of Chinese drama art and the change of social and cultural context in the new period, to see the changes of the audience’s aesthetic experience expectation horizon, it can not only make the audience’s expectation horizon research in China’s contemporary social and cultural development and the evolution of contemporary Chinese drama history, it also helps us to understand the changes of the expectation horizon of the audience and the audience acceptance of the drama in the new period.
