Research fronts present the focus and difficulty domain of scientific research.Obtaining the research fronts timely and accurately is of great significance for the country,institutions and researchers.At present,academic resources are increasing day by day.Researchers are faced with great challenges in understanding the development trend of the field and obtaining research fronts.In addition,there are still some problems of research fronts identification.This research is aimed at the requirements of academic resource information processing in big data environment,solving the problems of the existing methods,and putting forward the research fronts identification method based on LDA,research fronts classification method based on Life-cycle Theory and research fronts semantic analysis method based on ontology.Through the literature review,there are three main problems in the research of fronts identification: one is lack of recognition index of research fronts;the second is that there are some limitations in the research fronts presentation.Thirdly,the existing methods of research fronts recognition neglect the semantic information between texts.Based on the conceptual connotation and characteristics of the fronts of the research,and definition and analysis of the fronts concept,this paper puts forward the identification index of the research fronts for the first problem.Aiming at the latter two main problems,the LDA-based recognition method is adopted in the study.As a semantic analysis method,LDA has been proved to have a good effect in the topic extraction of scientific literature.In order to evaluate the research fronts recognition method based on LDA,the accuracy of the identification findings is evaluated by expert evaluation method.At the same time,the advantages,characteristics and application range of the method are compared on the aspects of the data source,the methodology,the difficulty degree of realization and the accuracy of the recognition result.At present,the research fronts analysis method has the following problems: the existing analysis method is mainly a simple presentation of the results,such as list,matrix or knowledge map,and the methods based on bibliometrics and knowledge map visualization method.This paper presents a method of fronts analysis based on Life-cycle Theory and semantic analysis based on ontology.Under the guidance of the theoretical framework of the Life-cycle Theory,the study on the research fronts classification is conducted by combining with the growth rate of research fronts topic.The research fronts semantic analysis method based on ontology is combined of two dimensions,the semantic type analysis and semantic relevance analysis.This study uses the ontology to carry on the concept mapping to the research fronts words,analyzes its semantic type,and calculates the semantic distance between the concepts through the ontology structure,so as to analyze the semantic relation degree between the fronts topics.Through theoretical research and empirical research,this study draws the following conclusions:(1)On theoretical research aspect,this research suggests that the research fronts is a set of research topics that can lead the development of disciplines and are highly concerned in the field.Its connotation and characteristics are "attractive" and "novelty".In addition,the research fronts can be divided into emerging type,growing type,stable type,recessing type and exiting type.(2)On method research aspect,the research start with two dimensions of analysis,identification of research fronts and analysis of research fronts.In this study,we propose a method of research fronts identification based on LDA,and through theoretical research and empirical research,we draw the following conclusions: first,the method has a good mathematical basis,can extract the research topics at the semantic level,and behave better when compared with the existing methods processing large-scale academic corpus;the second is the combination of LDA model with the novelty and strength of the topics that tends to be more accurate of the fronts identification;third,the text format request for the method is simple,and the research fronts recognition results are more comprehensive and specific than the existing methods.To the research fronts analysis method,the research fronts classification method based on the Life-cycle Theory can help researchers understand the current stage of one research front,and predict its future development trend.The research fronts analysis method based on ontology,can enrich the semantic information of research fronts.(3)In the application research,this study analyzes the literature in the field of medical informatics for nearly a decade,and identifies the 19 research fronts in this field.There are four main innovation points in this research: First,it defines the concept of research fronts,and puts forward the recognition index of the research fronts,provides the theoretical basis for the accurate identification of the research fronts.The second is to propose the research fronts recognition method based on LDA,realize the recognition at semantic level;third is to put forward research fronts classification analysis method based on the Life-cycle Theory and research fronts semantic analysis method based on ontology to provide more semantic information of research fronts interpretation;the fourth is to put forward the comprehensive and accurate analysis of medical information within a decade,and provide a reference for the researchers.The research fronts identification method based on LDA and the research fronts analysis method based on Life-cycle Theory and ontology put forward in this research are of great significance as shown below:(1)Enriches the research fronts theory,which provides the theoretical basis for the recognition index of fronts.(2)Proposes a research fronts recognition method based on LDA,realizes the research fronts identification at semantic level,and could handle large-scale academic corpus,which provides a reference for the research of fronts semantic identification with the big data background.(3)Propose a research fronts analysis method based on Life-cycle Theory and ontology.Understanding the type of research fronts could identify the stage the fronts and predict the development trend.Ontology-based research fronts analysis method can provide more semantic information for research and a new perspective for fronts interpretation.(4)Assists in scientific research management better.The method proposed in this study can better assist the scientific research manager in the process of the strategic planning.
