Research On Neutrino Masses,Koide’s Relation Generalizations And Their Applications | | Posted on:2017-07-30 | Degree:Doctor | Type:Dissertation | | Institution:University | Candidate:Syeda Tehreem Iqbal | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:1310330566957878 | Subject:Physics | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The oscillation of neutrinos between different flavors indicates that the neutrinos are massive particles.Standard Model considered the masses of neutrinos to be zero till neutrinos oscillations were discovered,now finding the exact masses of neutrinos has become a fascinating line of research.Innumerable works focus on finding the missing masses of neutrinos and incorporating neutrino masses in Standard Model.This work is dedicated to find the missing neutrino masses.We follow two different approaches to find the mass values of neutrinos.First we try finding the masses of three flavors of neutrinos by using the simple mass relation pointed out by Yoshio Koide which,for the masses of leptons,gives result precise upto 5 decimal points.By considering See Saw mechanism as the underlying mechanism generating tiny neutrino masses we show how neutrinos satisfy the Koide’s mass relation,on the basis of which we systematically give exact values of not only left but also right handed neutrino masses.In our second approach,we used supersymmetric extension to Standard Model.Since the right handed neutrinos are singlet of gauge symmetry in Standard Model,we extend the the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model with the right handed neutrino superfield N in the most general way.N gets vacuum expectation value through vacuum spontaneous breaking,See Saw mechanism can be realized in such model,and μv MSSM becomes part of our model.Furthermore,in this dissertation we also predict the mass values of next generations of leptons and quarks.Standard Model does not constrain the maximum number of generations that can exist in it.The presence of more than three generation of particles,predicted by various models beyond Standard Model,can be the answer to several unanswered questions.To predict the masses of fourth generation of leptons and quarks we discover a mass space by generalizing the Koide’s relation over the leptons and quarks section of Standard Model and deduce some new symmetric relations.By using the magnitude dilation and angular rotation ratio between these relations we predict the masses of the fourth generation particles.By extending the work and following similar steps we try to find the masses of the fifth generation of particles but surprisingly we find no real value solutions for the fifth generation particles indicating that no fifth generation exist in nature.In short,this work also constraints the existence of fifth generation leptons and quarks. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Neutrino masses, Koide’s Relation, Fourth Generation quark masses, See Saw Mechanism, Fourth generation lepton masses | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
