After thirty years of reform and opening up, China’s rapid economic growth havemade remarkable achievements. At the same time, the deterioration of the ecologicalenvironment gradually become more and more evident because of people are lack ofthe basic understanding of the relationship between human and nature.As the forcesof future national construction, the cultivation of Colleges and Universities’studentsecological moral quality is very important. In the long term, Colleges and Universitiesof our country have accumulated rich experiences in moral education, and made greatcontribution to cultivate the talents of high quality. Therefore, taking the ecologicalmoral education into the school moral education and making ecological moraleducation, has a very important significance.As a recent concept, the theoretical research of ecological moral education havealready started, and the empirical reserch have also made lot of progress. However,the study of ecological moral education still stay at the surface, not deep enough, andeven didn’t form the basic concept and category system. On this account, the coreissue of this paper is to define the concept of ecological moral education, find itscontemporary value and theory foundation, inspect the realistic practice of ecologicalmoral education. Also, this paper want to establish ecological moral education theorysystem. On this basis, we can construct the preliminary practice mode of collegeecological moral education.According to the above ideas, the study of this paper spread out the followingtwo paths:The first path: the construction of ecological moral education theory system.Firstly, the paper tried to comb the various views of the concept of ecologicalmoral education,define the concept of ecological moral education. The authorbelieved although the ecological moral education and moral education had similarities,the ecological moral education can reveal the importance of ecological moral underthe perspective of moral education. Making a distinction between ecological moraleducation and other education about the environment is the premise of collegeecological moral education research and giving the environmental education andvalue connotation.Secondly, the value of ecological moral education is the premise of theory ofecological moral education. If the ecological moral education did not have value,ecological moral education theory naturally had no value. The author confirmed thevalue of ecological moral education, believed ecological moral education couldcultivate the ecological civilization consciousness in modern society,ecological ethicsconsciousness and strengthen ecological need consciousness so as to promote theecological civilization construction; could cultivate the harmonious moralconsciousness between human and nature, change the mechanical,rigescent way ofthinking of economic society, and cultivate the spirit of inclusive open atmosphere soas to promote the construction of harmonious society; could promote the all-round development of human beings, integrate education factors, innovate moral factors,build environment factors.Thirdly, the theory about ecological moral education is the guiding theory whichdecided the direction of the development and basic principles about it. This paperholds that: first, the marxism view about nature, practice and people’s liberationtheory contains rich ecological ethics thought,which is the important theory basis ofecological moral education. Second, the western ecological ethics schools in variousecological ethics thought also are theory treasure for ecological moral education.Third, China’s ancient culture about ecological ethics thought in confucianism andTaoism which ecological moral education should absorb their wisdom resources.The second path: the empirical research of the ecological moral education.The first one is historical investigation about the ecological moral educationpractice since the establishment of our country. The second is the current situationinvestigation about our college ecological moral education practice. The third isreason analysis of current situation about our college ecological moral educationpractice. The fourth is built basis on the first three aspects which want to constructpractical model to our college moral education. The author believes that, China’secological moral education has just started, its practice has very serious problems inmajor setting、curriculum setting and teaching, so as to the overall effect is low. Thispaper argues that the reason which caused college ecological moral education weakpractice and low effect, is related to school education factors,economic developmentfactors and the consumerism ideologies.To deal with the ecological environment problems, can’t do without thetransformation of economic development mode、 innovation of science andtechnology、 system design and arrangement. But fundamentally, we must putprofound transformation into people’s ideas, made “ecological civilization concepthave a firm establishment in the whole society”. Therefore, we need more effectivemeasures of ecological moral education to promote ecological moral quality of thecontemporary college students. This paper argues that the ecological moral educationwant to promote its efficiency must follow three principles, establish two value goalsand long-term mechanism. The guiding principle should be based on subjective,integrity and hierarchy for its direction; its value goals should be divided into twolevels, namely: ecological rules consciousness cultivation and ecological moralconsciousness cultivation, avoiding the moral education effect low caused by the highmoral education targets; putting forward the ecological moral education practice ofclassroom mode, extracurricular mode and cultural mode, forming the long-termmechanism of ecological moral education.At last, the author summarized the research results of the paper, and pointed outthe limitations and future research direction.
