Marxist Ideology Theory Chinese Research

It is really amazing for Chinese nation to spring up and attain such a great achievement in such a short time after having undergone a century of unbearable hardships and bullies. A decisive factor contributing to this is the Chinization of "the Specter of Communism", to be more specific, the ideology of Marxism, which is regarded as the spirit of Chinese nation. This dissertation is meant to explore two questions:what is the content of "the Specter of Communism", and how was its Chinization achieved?The author studied the Chinization of Marxism from the materialistic view of history with an extensive reading of almost all the updated field-work reports and academic research books concerning politics and sociology. This dissertation uncovered the nature and function of Marxism as well as its contemporary value, after a deep exploration to the source and derivation of ideology, and the whole process of start-up and development and improvement of Marxism. Based on this, the author further studied the theory of Marxism and its first application in socialist country, including the background and evolution process of Leninism, and summarized the innovation and contribution of Leninism in Soviet Union of Russia. Taken Marxism and Leninism as a corner stone, this dissertation analyzed the development process of Chinization of Marxism and its achievements during different periods, and tried to discover their inner connections and value orientations, that is, to look for the contents of Mao Zedong Theory and its contribution to the Chinization of Marxism by looking back its background and growth process, to explore the contents of Deng Xiaoping Theory and its updating of Marxism by studying the great breakthrough that it brought to China through the implementation of reform and open up policy, to conclude the innovation results attained by the third generation of central collective leadership in promoting the Chinization of Marxism through analyzing the theories and practices that they have taken to meet the challenges in a new environment of socialist market economy, to analyze and study the major strategic measures adopted by Hu Jintao-headed collective leadership in updating the ideology of Marxism and the achievements that have been reaped.This dissertation studied the Chinization of Marxism, analyzed the experience and lessons that is learned during the process, and made a deep thinking into its further development in current situations. The author first brought up a "hot" question that had long been asked, then gave a "cold" thinking to this question, listed the tasks, principles and contents of promoting the Chinization of Marxism, and finally sorted out the new measures and solutions. As an institutionalized theory, Marxsim is in fact a kind of practice. The way it takes effect is by emotional recognition and passionate application. Therefore, some effective ways must be found to internalize it into people’s mind as their views and beliefs and externalize it into people’s behavior as their habits, such as improving its persuasion in the process of theory innovation, strengthening its influence in system construction, upgrading its cohesion through ideological and political work, enhancing its appeal by uplifting China’s soft power, raising its filtration by advancing the publication work.The innovation of this dissertation lies in several aspects. First, it studied the background and processof Marxism Chinization in different periods and extracted the major contents and achievements, using the methodology of deriving theory from historic facts while combing facts with theory. Secondly, it systematically analyzed the answers, interpretations and predictions to China issues by China’s collective leaderships in different periods under the guidance of Marxism, and summed up the experience and enlightenment in the process of Chinization of Marxism. Thirdly, it brought up the hot issues that the Chinization of Marxism confronted with, gave it a detailed analysis and deep thinking, and sorted out the principles, tasks and major contents of promoting the Chinization of Marxism. Finally, it sorted out the exact routes of Chinization from five aspects such as theory innovation, system construction, intensifying ideological and political work, improving China’s soft power as well as enhancing publication, and gave its advice on the establishment and improvement of Chinization evaluation mechanism, which was expected to provide some guidance for the current practice of updating Marxism in China.
