Yangshu Da is the famous language philologist in the early20th century, he was well know with eastern and western culture, devoted himself to academic all his life, especially made significant achievements in the field of grammar, rhetoric, Exegetics, etymology, philology, bibliography, Oracle, Jin Language (inscription on ancient bronze objects), and archaeology. Above these mentioned, all of them were regarded as classical work in the world. Yangshu Da’s academic achievements and thoughts were based on down-to-earth learning in Qing Dynasty, and also affected by western linguistics. So, it is easy to find his rigorous academic style, as well as no limit one type of thought and approaches. The turn of age, he bridged Linguistics and Philology in Qing Dynasty and modern Chinese language&characters. However, up to now, because of the limited research of his rich academic achievements, it is cannot match his academic status, so, this essay aims to systematically and comprehensively research Yangshu Da’s academic achievements, from narrow to wide, so as to make more scholars pay attention to his academic achievements.This essay contains almost all of the achievements in terms of Yangshu Da’s work on philology, having a detailed explanation about it, including researches of Shuo Wen Jie Zi, Oracle, and Jin Language. Yangshu Da’s Shuo Wen research contains’explanation of etymology’,’article in early Ming Dynasty’,’proving the pronunciation of phonogram has meaning’,’synonyms’etymology is similar’, That created characters pass by,"said the certification Xu," Fixed promised that "the contents of the seven aspects. The research of Oracle includes two branches,’words research’ and ’history research’, and the research of Jin Language divides into four parts,’justice training of Jin Language’’historical events in Jin Language’,’policy and culture systems in Jin Language’,’annotation of character pattern in Jin Language’. Based on Yangshu Da’s approaches of philology, the research ways can be divided into broaden three parts, they are proving from character patterns, pronunciation, and explanation.Finally, there is a future research and explore based on Yangshu Da’s achievements of Shuo Wen, Oracle, and Jin Language.Academic research aims to carry forward previous researches and inspire the latter with spiral escalation activities. Yangshu Da fully reflects the value of academic research.
