Equipment manufacturing industry is the strategic fundamental industry of a country. Motion control system is the core of the manufacturing equipments. With the rapid development of intelligent manufacturing and industrial automation, the design methodology, functional integration method, system openness and re-configurability are particularly important. Supported by the major projects of national science and technology, the design methodology of the motion control system has been researched, and the main research content are listed as follow:In order to reduce the design complexity and overcome the difficulties of the motion control system in its design process, the functional and non-functional complexity were analyzed. Then based on the approach of designing motion control system with PLCopen specification, the innovative design method for motion control system is proposed based on PLCopen specification and new technologies.In order to improve the openness, the function of the whole system and its formulation has been described abstractly, and the hybrid architecture was been adopted based on the PLCopen compoment-based modules, which kept the advantages of the central control in hierarchical architecture and increased the distributed capabilities of the function blocks. Then the requirements of the hardware and software development platform for the system design with the proposed architecture were presented, and the platform was designed and verified based on an open source development platform.In order to improve the re-configurability, the methodology of the component-based function modules were proposed, and combined with the hybrid architecture, the system requirements, and the system implementation process, the component-based function modules were designed based on the PLCopen specification. Then the model of composite function block was defined, which has the ability of self-government to meet the re-configurability requirement.In order to improve the efficiency of the motion control system design, from the respect of state model of the system, the system design model was built using the GEMMA\GRAFCET specification. And the implementation method and its procedure were studied based on the design model as well. To achieve the openness and re-configurability of the system, the component-based integrated approach was employed, and the PLCopen function blocks were called in the system state model to realize the specific functions. Combined the design model and the component-based function blocks, the motion control system was designed. Based on the above content, on the embedded motion control systems platform or PC platform were designed, and the proposed approach of motion control system design process were verified, the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, as well as motion control system with openness and reconstruction.
