On Occupational Living State Of Primary And Middle School PE In Our Country

If the studies on the teacher pay attention only to what teachers should do, rather than the understanding of their actual conditions, which would be undoubtedly biased, and the education reforms would lose their standpoint. This paper takes the living state of occupation as the theme, investigating the actual conditions of Primary and M iddle School PE teachers in their occupational activities, providing factual basis and theoretical premise for the development of PE teachers and the PE reforms in school.Based on the studies of living state and the theory of existence philosophy, this study makes the definition of the occupational living state of PE teachers, which refers to the basic state of PE teachers in doing their occupational activities under certain historical background and occupational environment, in which the occupational feelings hold the center. Then the study takes a historical research on the birth and development of PE teacher as an occupation, and analysizes the features of their occupational activities, in order to serve the theoretical foundation for the study in the later period.The study has designed the questionnaire researching PE teachers’ occupational feelings. The data collecting is finished on internet. Meanwhile, some first-hand informations of PE teachers’occupational living state are achieved by depth interview and non-participant observation. Material analysis is accomplished by qualitative research analysis software NVIV0.8.The following results have been achieved:(1) by the aspect of software environment, social prejudice and low subject status make the PE teachers confused; (2) by the aspect of hardware environment, low income and poor hardware conditions bring high pressure to the PE teachers; (3) concerning with the safety of students and the course reform have become the occupational anxiety and the constraint factor to PE teachers; (4) the concern points of PE teachers on work achievement are training and teaching awards, by which aspect reflects the feathers of weak professional autonomy. In a word, the condition of occupational value difficult to realized has become the dilemma of PE teachers’ occupational living state in our country. The reasons of dilemma of PE teachers’occupational living state are the lack of outside support and internal dynamics.Taking a further analysis on its historical and social roots to the dilemma of PE teachers’occupational living state, the influences from traditional cultures could be realized:(1)the traditional culture of Confucianism emphasized the social value, which caused the individual value neglected in the PE education of ancient times; (2) affected by the thought of valuing literature while ignoring sports, the school PE education was missing for a long time in the ancient period; (3)the ancient education emphasized the mind much more than the body. Meanwhile, the social root lies in the following problems of PE education development under the background of social transition period:(1) during the period of social transition, the value of individual life is overlooked by the instrumental values of PE education; (2) the speed of education development falls behind that of economic development in our country, and the occupational development of PE teacher is thus limited; (3) the laggard of system reform restrains the occupational development of PE teacher.By the viewpoint of conditions for realizing PE teachers’occupational valve, some countermeasures are then been put forward:it is the prerequisite for PE teachers to do a good work; the professional autonomy of PE teacher is the key point; and the life care would be the foundation of improving the occupational living state of PE teachers.
