After the reforming and opening up of our society, a lot of large-scale sports competition venues with modern design ideals were coming up. These vanues,represented by Olypmic vanuse of Beijing, not only showed the world the success of the fruitful achievements of China’s reform and opening up, but also left us abundance of precious cultural heritages. The Beijing Olympic venues, which have been carefully planned and designed with large-scale investment and long-term construction is the concentrated expression of this cultural heritage. With the ending of the 2008 Olympic Games and the changing of China’s sports industry development, the society circles have carried out extensive and in-depth study on how to better pretend these precious heritage and how to develop and make good use of them to achieve people-oriented social development goals. This paper gives a practical application-oriented research on how to develop and utilize the Beijing Olympic venues after the games from the perspective of product line design.The scientific design theories and methods are important prerequisites for achieving the effectiveness of product line design in developing and utilizing the Beijing Olympic venues after the Games. Due to the theory and methods of modern product design, which deal with industrial product design becoming more mature, this paper focuses primarily on the research of modern product design theory and methods as well as on the characteristics of service products and the current shortages of service product design to develop "integrated service product design method" based on integrating the design ideas, theories, methods and tools.Under the guidance of "integrated services product design method", the present research firstly investigate and analyze the macro-environment, Beijing-resident’s lifestyles and Beijing resident’s consumer demands of sports recreation on developing and utilizing the Beijing Olympic venues after the Games and then complete the structural design of the functional demand of Beijing residents that include basic demand, expanding demand and the consequent demand. After that, this paper develops the core resource structural design based on the analyses of Beijing Olympic Games’venues, including space and equipment resources, cultural resources, advertising resources and investment resources. Lastly, based on the research above, the functional structure of demand will be mapped out to a combination of multiple product lines, which include:horizontal core product line comprising sports and fitness products, cultural activities products, advertising products, investment products; as well as four extend vertically product lines expanded from four core products respectively and complementary product portfolio mapped out by the consequent demand.
