To promote our social progress via institutional reform has become an important means. The important role of institutional reform plays in our school has gained unanimous recognition and the quality of institution is the key to moral education in schools. This dissertation explores the existing problems in schools by a field study of the school life in a private school from the angle of the influence of institutions on moral education in order to reveal the present situation, the procedure, mechanics of such institutions, which gives the readers the valuable implications of reviewing the existing problems and shaping the school institutions and in the hope of embodying their moral function.As is known to us all that a school is a form of institutions and school education is the action of institutions. The author has figured out that on the one hand, there are a great number of institutions in the school which are implemented to solve the problems,on the other hand, such institutions are becoming greater and greater due to the conservative thought and show like guideline. The institutions of labor, salary, and strict students controlling/management ones are the key, which have solved the survival and prosperity of the school. However, by observation and analysis of the texts of institution, the author has found the following problems such as the wrong values pursuit, the irrational structures, and the illogic language, saint demands-oriented demands, illegal items fast-paced and changeable futures.The author reaches the conclusion that school education is a kind of institution itself. Institutionalization is an important feature of a school. School institutions are a net frame, not only the simple text-based specifications. The completion process of school institution is a top-down one with the absence of procedural justice. The procedures are not public; the students do not participate in or do not have equal rights. The implement of school institutions is achieved by the following methods, such as the control of time and space, hierarchy, the ranking and other forms of daily control.As it is practiced by high pressure and test-oriented, it has a quite strong sense of coerce which is shown by various meetings, the administers’demands or head teachers’ administration. In the background of test-orientation, the wrong purpose, the present institutions enable the moral education to emphasis its contents on daily routine and the moral education methods can not arouse the students’ interest. As a result, such institutions can not promote students’ moral development, sometimes they may become the hindrances of moral development.Though there are so many problems, the schools’eternal pursuits of education, the teachers’continual reflection of education, their love to the students shed lights in modifying the deficiency of school institutions.
