Stratum Interest Conflict And Integration In Contemporary China

China began to enter modern social journey in1978through reform and opening up and itbrought the third historic change in the20th-century Chinese history. Since then, our country’splanned economic system persisted in the past to socialist market economic system, andChinese society began to transition from traditional agricultural society to modern industrialsociety. On the one hand, the two big transformation promoted the development ofmarketization, industrialization and urbanization in China. On the other hand, the greatchanges had been taken place in China’s ownership structure, industry structure, employmentstructure, occupation groups structure, income distribution structure and stratum structure.The original "two class, a stratum " became divided into a lot of new social strata. Because ofthese strata held a different number of social resources unbalanced respectively, thereby itgenerated interests differentiation, contradiction and conflict between them. Although thecontradiction and conflict of interest between these strata under certain conditions has itspositive function, the negative function will highlight when the contradiction and conflict isbeyond a certain limit and into external fierce confrontation. It will destroy the social stabilityand harmony and affect the normal operation of the social system. Therefore, we mustintegrate the contradiction and conflict from strata interests differentiation. So, this thesis willanalyze and explore it with the logic sequence progressive.First of all, to retrospect and comb the strata interests from a historical and theoreticalperspectives. Revolutionary teachers Marx, Engels, Lenin had carried out in-depth research tothe class contradiction and class struggle and had made great theoretical contribution in orderto solve the malady in capitalist society. On these bases, Every collective leadership of theCommunist Party and the Chinese and foreign theorists had made a further expansion with thetimes and social environment in order to solve the problem of strata interests of contemporarysociety. This thesis summarized them, and on these bases, to explore these concept,such asthe class and stratum, the interest and the stratum interest, conflict and the stratum conflict ofinterest. These concepts will make theoretical groundwork necessary for the next chapters.Secondly, to study and explore the current situation and origin of the stratum interestcontradiction and the conflict in contemporary China. Our county’s class and stratum statuschanged in the process of transition to industrialization, urbanization and modernization. Theclass and stratum interest differentiation is obvious, and produced the different interest strataand interest groups. These strata and groups possessed differently the economic interests,political interests, cultural interests, social benefits and ecological benefits and thus led to allkinds of contradictions and conflicts. To investigate its fundamental cause, it lies not only inthe historical inevitability, but also relates to the current system and mechanism. From thefounding of new China to reform and opening up, China had made great achievements in allaspects of political, economic, cultural, social and other things, but many systems and policiesestablished are still not perfect in the process of exploration. These factors exacerbated thestrata differentiation and the imbalance in the distributing, enjoying and consuming ofbenefits, and thus led to aggravate the contradiction and conflict of benefits between strata. The competition disorder led to market monopoly and the "Matthew effect" caused the poorgot poorer, the rich got richer in the market. The double effects of the market failure and thegovernment failure not only widened the interest gap between the strata，but also made thestrata a "fixed" and "involution" phenomenon, so that some strata are always in the center ofinterest, some other strata are always in the edge of the interest. Find the source of thecontradiction and conflict between the strata is the prerequisite of solving these problem.Thirdly, to innovate the system and mechanism of the strata interests integration andachieve the integration goal of the strata interests contradiction and conflict on the base ofconstructing strata interest integration theory. Because the strata contradiction and conflict ofinterest is a universal phenomenon in the world whether in history or in reality，variouscountries had adopted a series of policies and measures to solve it，and had made somesuccessful experiences, also had some profound lessons. On the base of learning from theexperiences and lessons of other countries’ and Chinese since the people’s Republic of Chinaestablished，to construct the beliefs, principles and targets about the integration of the stratainterests contradictions and innovate the system and mechanism in order to form a interestscommunity of mutual sharing the interests and harmonious relationship among all strata. Notonly is this necessary condition to maintain social stability, to improve the social structure, tobuild a harmonious society at the present stage of China, but also to build a solid socialfoundation for achieving“Chinese Dream”with state prosperity, national revitalization,people’s happiness.
