Great Man Mao Zedong Character Study

In the perspective of contemporary mainstream psychology and philosophy, the character can only be explained for history. Character which constitutes human nature is a part of the natural result of self-shaping in "all social relations", namely ethical relation, moral relation and value orientation. The nature of character is the outward manifestation of the subject’s regulation creation and optimization reconfiguration in all kinds of social relations. It is also the concentrated reflection of the value of the object person in the self cognition, self improvement and self establishing. In a general sense, character is the unity of creation activity of the subject person and the value evaluation of the object person. In the historical materialism, the natural physiological process decided by the genetic predisposition and the socialization process consisted of the life and education conditions are the macro process that constitutes the whole psychological character development.Among them, the socialization process determines the formation of character.A great man is a public figure who can complete mission impossible which will cause a series of social changes and have great impact on the later generations through his own effort. As one of the three great men in the20th century China, Mao Zedong built a distinctive great character which was influenced by the social environment of his time and the "realistic individual" in the process of subjective consciousness. This thesis attempts to construct three stage models of character formation, to research and develop the adolescence, youth, adult period of Mao Zedong’s character formation, analyzing the progressive process of its great character bud, sharpen, molding, and points out its great character embodied in the consciousness about the nation and people, the breadth of mind in the concept of "agreeing to differ", the practical style of "seeking truth from facts", the gracious self-discipline, the heroic optimism and fearlessness, the strong revolutionary spirit and faith are all is great character.This thesis attempts to analyze the core of Mao’s great character, that is revolution is the basic trait of Mao’s great character. The trait of revolution was reflected in the revolutionary realism and romanticism."Seeking truth from facts","handling affairs in compliance with objective laws","No investigation, no say (no right to speak)" were the down-to-earth style of work in the revolutionary realism."Counting the mighty as no more than muck","all reactionaries are paper tigers" were his heroicness and fearlessness in the revolutionary romanticism. The revolutionary realism and romanticism are the basics of Mao’s character. They are the combination of historical materialism and dialectical materialism, the unity of opposites between the realism and the romanticism. It also reflects the dialectical unity of the subjective pursuit and objective existence of the "realistic individual.Historical materialism recognizes the heroes have a significant effect on the historical development objectively, the heroes have their own characteristics, therefore, any historical era have their own era hero thought and character features. The role of great character as the carrier which is bound to the people’s practice and theory, the great influence of Mao’s great character of modern China is a comprehensive and profound. In this thesis, according to the political practice of Mao Zedong and the pratical experience of sinicization of Marxism, analyzing the exploration of the important effect on Mao’s great character in Chinese New Democratic revolution, socialist construction, public awareness and reshaping the national spirit, the new Chinese diplomacy space expansion and to establish status as a great power, the formation and development of Mao Zedong Thought and so on.In theory, haracteristics and possible innovations of this thesis are trying to "micro perspective" in the problem of the Marx doctrine in China. We know that Mao Zedong Thought in China of the Marx doctrine is the micro, Mao Zedong Thought is a great character to microcosmic, but, undeniably, these factors had great influence on the macro levels. Sinicization of Marxism "modern grand narrative" often ignore that how to explain these micro influence and how these microscopic effects in the category theory research field.There is no reason to doubt that a thorough and in-depth study on the development, traits and influence of Mao’s character will help us better understand the positive role he played in pushing the development of China society. It’s also significant for exploring the value of times of Mao’s character, pushing the national character in the modernization of China, thus to carry forward and inheriting the core value of socialism.
