Cognitive Research On The Space Relationship Construction In Modern Chinese

This paper under the theoretical framework of modern Chinese space system based on the theory of cognitive structure type, combining with the relevant results in Chinese academia, and researched five typical expressions in modern Chinese space system:(1) The “Shejian Shang De X” construction;(2) The semantics of the localizer “Xia” in spatial relations constructions;(3) The Cong(从)X+VP Dao(到) Y construction;(4) The Wang(往)X Li(里)V construction;(5) The locative symmetrical construction. This paper is divided into seven chapters and each chapter is arranged as following:Chapter One: Introduction. This chapter presents the research object, research meaning and theoretical background, and arranges the content of the article as well as shows corpus sources.Chapter Two: Overview of typical spatial relations in modern Chinese. This chapter presents a new system about modern Chinese spatial-relations constructions, and defines the spatial-relations constructions and reclassifies the spatial-relations constructions based on the previous research. Divides the modern Chinese spatial-relations constructions into seven subsystems and the spatial-relations constructions this article selected is the typical representative subsystem.Chapter Third to Chapter Seven researches on five modern Chinese spatial-relations constructions.Chapter Third: Research on the meanings of the localizer “Xia” in spatial-relations constructions. This chapter has set up a space relationship model about the localizer “Xia”, investigated this locality ‘s meaning in the spatial-relations constructions Xia-SRC about entity and metaphor based on spatial-relations constructions, and mainly researched in virtual spatial relations constructions the meanings of cognitive of the localizer “Xia”. Study the localizer “Xia” meanings of cognitive motivation in virtual spatial relations constructions. We believe that in the entity spatial-relations constructions, the localizer “Xia” expresses specific concept of spatial relations, including segregation, and contact relation. In virtual spatial-relations constructions, the localizer “Xia” expresses six kinds of meanings. Object quantity is the abstract of space quantity, and the deriving mechanism from the space quantity to time quantity, scale quantity and action quantity is space metaphor.
