"Xing" In Literati Painting

The thesis is targeting Literati Paintings, putting aside the shackles the name and form, it restarts the very basic meaning of Literati Paintings. The writer holds the idea that, literati paintings had governed the system of Shiren paintings, Yuanti paintings, furthermore, it embodies the real spirit of the Chinese traditional painting. The writer discusses the matter from the following three aspects:"Wen", "Human" and "Painting", which shows the outline of " Wenren-Painting", so literati paintings can be regarded as the integrative symbiosis of "Wen-Human-Painting". The human lives between "Wen" and " Painting ", he absorbs "Wen" of the whole world, so literati paintings are formed."Xing" is the origin of the literati paintings. "Xing" is the starting of human spirit, it returns the origin of life. The thesis studied the literati paintings via the principal line " Xing ".First of all, " Xing ", as a showing of " people-are-good-in-nature ", it needs to be cultured. Confucianism and Taoism stress importance on cultivation from different points, but the results are same. Shi Tao explained the painters’cultivation and "Xing" from "Mengyang" and "real life ".Secondly, the complicated "Xing" unfolds itself from the "be-tween" of "Lin", "Guan", "Xie". The three aspects imply the important point of studying, appreciating and creating Literati Paintings, at the same time, "Lin Gua" and " Guan Gua" hint a very profound meaning. Thirdly, let’s come back to the beginning of "Xing", to seek what stimulates "Xing". The first, "Xing" is triggered by "Ji". The second, "Xing" is exposing itself in telepathy. The third, "Honesty" is the origin of "Xing""Xing" means "Birth" and "New" as well, human includes prosperous life, which is the very basic power of origination and creativity in traditional paintings.
