Epic "panwang Song Music Ethnographic Research

HuanPanWangYuan is an important folk sacrifice activity for the Yao people at home and abroad and PanWang Song sung in HuanPanWangYuan ritual is a mass national epic with rich contents. Domestic musicians study HuanPanWangYuan ritual music, mostly making this ritual as the point of penetration, and have acquired many academic achievement. The author tries to make the epic PanWang Song as the point of penetration in order to study PanWang Song music combining with the epic text Scope of survey and research in this essay includes LianDong, HuangDong in BaBu District, HeZhou city, GuangXi, comparing HuanPanWangYuan ritual and its PanWang Song in LiZhou, TianLin county,GuangXi as the object of scrutinization as well. On the basis of full field survey, the true singing tradition of southern epic PanWang Song is discovered to achieve the organic combination and explanation of music and culture. On this, the research thoughts should be the following:Firstly, to organize the definition and meaning of PanWang Song for the solid base of PanWang Song study. Secondly, to analyse and explain the rules of oral characteristic harmonious sounds of this epic through the Oral-Formulaic theory with manuscript text epic and manuscript text, moreover, to broaden to the analysis of the use of form of music in the epic chanting so as to get well versed in both academic analysis of form of music and folk songs expression, making some new try for the musical analysis of epic PanWang Song, revealing the clan groups historical memory born by epic PanWang Song, discussing its functional meanings and the social effects connected with clan groups inside.
