| This paper focuses on famous Russian writer Sholoknov’s novel And Quiet Flows the Don as the main research object by appling Theory and Methods of cultural psychology to deeply discuss the Cossacks’spirit pursuit in the early twentieth of wars and revolutions and the tragical historical destiny in the social and historical tide.There are five parts in this paper, including preface, three chapters and conclusion.In preface, we talk about the present research situation of China and Russia to the novel And Quiet Flows the Don, and make a detailed discussion to the purpose of selected subject, the academic value and practical significance.In the first chapter, we explore the Cossack’s characteristics as a group and its historical status, analyze the Don Cossacks’search process to the group spirit pursuit following the writer Sholokhov.In the second chapter, we explore Gregory Melekhov’s personal life course from the angle of the social political life and love life. The main spiritual pursuit of Gregory Melekhov is to seek the life value and meaning, the freedom and justice, to desire perfect love combining passion and holiness. But he fails finally. The writer reveals the historically tragic fate of the Don Cossacks from the main hero of novel.In the thid chapter, we explore the importance of“home”and“children”to Gregory Melekhov’s spiritual pursuit. Returning home and living in a a peaceful life are the main content of the Don Cossacks’spiritual truth, and Gregory Melekhov is the representative.In conclusion, we summarize the main content of the paper, and point that Gregory’s tragic fate is not only personal tragedy but also the real portraiture of the Don Cossacks’destiny. The group’s spiritual pursuit conflicts with the current historical environment, and the gap between ideal and reality causes the historical tragedy. |
