| Objective:With the lack of depth and systematic study of Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating numbness, this study systematically summarized the literatures and experiences in treating numbness by both ancient and modern doctors, proposed that Qi and Blood deficiency, obstruction of phlegm and blood stasis is the fundamental pathogenesis, and develop Juanbitongluo decoction according to nourishing Qi and Blood, dissipate phlegm and remove blood stasis to dredge collateral, recruiting peripheral nerve injury patients as subject of study, evaluate the clinical efficacy of Juanbitongluo decoction, so as to provide an effective therapies and formulas in treating numbness.Method:120 cases collected, which includes numbness cause by peripheral neuritis, compression of nerve root, carpal tunnel syndrome. Randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each 60 cases. For treatment group, uses Juanbitongluo decoction; control group uses mecobalamin 5mg and Vitamin B110mg, each 1 tablet,3 times per day. Course of treatment for both groups is 2 months,4 weeks as 1 course, observation time is 2 course. By comparing two groups in view of paroxysm of numbness, reduce of numbness degree, improve of related symptoms of numbness, observe and evaluate the efficacy of Juanbitongluo decoction in treating numbness due to peripheral nerve injury.Result:(1) Total efficacy of Juanbitongluo decoction in treating numbness surpass the control group. First course of treatment, in treatment group,12.7% cured,21.8% improves significantly, total effective rate is 70.9%. Second course of treatment,46.0% cured,34.0% improves significantly, total effective rate is 92.0%. Among them, by comparing recovery rate and total effective rate, P<0.01, obviously better than one course of treatment. First course of treatment, in control group,5.6% cured,14.8% improves significantly, total effective rate is 42.6%. Second course of treatment,20.4% cured,22.4% improves significantly, total effective rate is 69.3%. Among them, by comparing cure rate and total effective rate, P<0.05, obviously better than one course of treatment. The result prompt that in treating numbness, regardless of western medicine of Chinese medicine,2 course of treatment is better. By comparing the total effective rate of both groups after first course of treatment, P<0.01.2 course of treatment, comparing cured rate, P<0.05, comparing total effective rate, P<0.01. The result indicates that the total effect of Juanbitongluo decoction in treating numbness is better than mecobalamin and Vitamin B1.(2) Juanbitongluo decoction can reduce the numbness degree effectively. The result of method of Levi showed, after first course of treatment and second course of treatment, by comparing the numbness degree of both groups, P<0.01. The result of VAS method showed, by comparing the VAS score after different course of treatment, P<0.01. The result indicates that Juanbitongluo decoction in reducing the numbness degree is better than control group.(3) Juanbitongluo decoction can reduce the numbness paroxysm frequency. Both treatment group and control group can reduce the numbness paroxysm frequency, and the degree of reduction of numbness paroxysm frequency is significantly reduced in two course of treatment. Juanbitongluo decoction in reducing the numbness paroxysm frequency is better than control group.(4) Juanbitongluo decoction can effectively improve related symptoms of numbness. Juanbitongluo decoction need 2 course of treatment in improving soreness, distanding, pain, swollen, cold feel, heavy sense of stagnation, tingling. In improving the burning sensation and creeps Juanbitongluo decoction needs only 1 course of treatment. Mecobalamin and Vitamin B1 need 2 course of treatment in improving sore, distanding, pain, swollen and tingling and 1 course of treatment in improving heavy sense of stagnation. No significant effect in improving cold feel, burning sensation and creeps.(5) Juanbitongluo decoction can effectively improve syndrome of numbness caused by Qi and Blood deficiency, obstruction of phlegm and blood stasis. After 2 months of treatment by Juanbitongluo decoction, numbness associated symptoms were improved in varying degrees. Among them, treatment group in improving weakness, cold feeling, backache, petrified, stiff neck, dizzy symptom had greater efficacy than control group.(6) Juanbitongluo decoction has good efficacy in multiple type of numbness cause by peripheral nerve injury. After 2 months of treatment statistics, the efficacy of both groups in improving numbness symptom caused by different diseases, the result shown:peripheral neuritis numbness:treatment group 50% cured,29.2% has significant improvement, total effective rate was 91.7%; the results of control group were 24.0%,12.0% and 60.0% respectively. Compare among 2 groups, P<0.05. Numbness caused by compression of nerve root:treatment group 41.2% cured,52.9% has significant improvement, total effective rate was 100.0%; the results of control group were 10.0%,30.0% and 75% respectively. Compare among 2 groups, P<0.05. Numbness caused by carpal tunnel syndrome:treatment group 44.4% cured,11.1% has significant improvement, total effective rate was 77.7%; the results of control group were 50.0%,25.0% and 100.0% respectively. Compare among 2 groups, P> 0.05. The results showed that Juanbitongluo decoction can effectively improve numbness due to peripheral nerve injury, especially peripheral neuritis numbness and numbness caused by compression of nerve root.Conclusion:The basic pathogenesis of peripheral neuritis numbness is Qi and Blood deficiency, obstruction of phlegm and blood stasis. Nourishing Qi and Blood, dissipate phlegm and remove blood stasis to dredge collateral is the basic treatment of peripheral neuritis numbness, the efficacy of Juanbitongluo decoction in treating peripheral neuritis numbness is greater than Mecobalamin and Vitamin B1, Juanbitongluo decoction can effectively ease numbness degree, reduce it paroxysm frequency,2 months treatment is better. Juanbitongluo decoction while improving numbness, can also improve numbness related symptoms such as rheumatic, swell, pain, swollen, cold feel, burning sensation, heavy sense of stagnation, tingling, creeps and numbness associated symptoms such as weakness, cold feel, afraid of the wind, backache, petrified, stiff neck, dizzy, reheat and sweating. Juanbitongluo decoction has efficacy in treating numbness caused by various types of peripheral nerve injury diseases. |
