Professor Li Guolie, male, born in 1931 Nanjing, Jiangsu province, who has 60-year experience in medicine, is famous with mellow medical ethics and learning experience in all abundance. He kept learning and thinking of Chinese medicine theory by clinical practice and constantly summing up and exploring. Professor Li created an unique academic experience and ideology, which is based on inheriting from the ancients. Research and inheriting academic thought and his Clinical experiences of Professor Li Guolie is a very significant task.Professor Li is good at combining Chinese medicine and western medicine to improve the clinical effects. He is famous for treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease especially cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, dizziness, headache, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, angina, heart failure, arrhythmia and other diseases, has accumulated a wealth of clinical experience. He doesn’t bounded by tradition, is always filled with new ideas and flexible method,.He combined the new knowledge, new theory, new achievements of modern medicine, devote himself in researching and development of traditional Chinese medicine, He carry forward the characteristics and advantages of Chinese medicine, combined with many years of clinical practice, continue to sum up, forming a unique theory of dialectical thinking and theory.1. The origins of academic ideologyProfessor Li has been working as a doctor for more than 60 (?)ears. He graduated from Zhejiang Medical University where he built his solid base of western medicine in 1955. By 1961, he finished study of Chinese medicine in Liaoning University of TCM. During the period in school, with the guidance of many traditional Chinese medicine master,he studied the basic theory of TCM, laid a deep foundation of both Chinese and western medicine; Under the guidance of many TCM masters, such as Fu Zonghan, he laid a good foundation for the formation of the future academic thought. Through deep research on "Nei Jing", "Treatise on Febrile Diseases", "Golden Chamber" and other classics, Professor Li emphasized the whole concept and deepened the understanding of treatment with differentiation, form the academic core of his clinical treatment. Since 1965, professor Li started working in Nanjing Municipal hospital of TCM. With years of practice he bought out the theory of treatment of encephalopathy with treatment system of "liver, kidney and spleen",explored the practice of "reconcile the Yin and Yang", "treat through Phlegm and blood stasis", developed the awareness of the disease, formed an unique academic thinking.2. The overview of academic thoughtWith the clinical practice and research which are guided by the core ideas of "holistic view" and "syndrome differentiation", Professor Li devoted himself into research and development of encephalopathy through the clinical practice for years, traced the origin, absorbed division of ancient Chinese medicine knowledge, and formed a series of unique academic point of view in diagnosis and treatment of encephalopathy. Professor Li believes the pathogenesis of encephalopathy of TCM is due to the hyperactivity of liver Yang; the obstruction of brain; the weakness after long illness, and intermingled phlegm and blood stasis, brought the treatment system of "liver, kidney and spleen", and he also emphasized the combination of syndrome differentiation of phlegm and blood stasis and Syndrome differentiation of Zang Fu organs. He also believes that in addition to the kidney and liver, Parkinson’s disease also due to the imbalance and deficiency of yin and yang.。 He adopts nourishing Yin and Yang as his main treatment principle. He also divide the Parkinson’s disease into three stages, the early stage (with the main characteristic of Yin deficiency), the medium stage(with the main characteristic of Yin and Yang deficiency), the later stage(with the main characteristic of Yang deficiency). He developed the understanding of encephalopathy of TCM, explored the ideas and methods for the clinical treatment.3. The overview of Professor Li guolie’s clinical experiences on treatment of encephalopathy of TCMBy analyzing Professor Li guolie’s cases and summarizing of the clinical medical record and database, I drew a conclusion about Professor Li’s unique ideas of diagnosis and treatment of encephalopathy of TCM. For the vertigo, Professor Li pointed out that cause of the symptoms is very complicated, but can be described in two words:vacuity and repletion. The vacuity is mainly because of the deficiency of Qi, blood, Yin and Yang, and liver, spleen kidney. The repletion mainly is due to the wind, fire and phlegm. Professor Li believes that we should attach great importance to both root and tip, smooth liver Yang and protect the vital qi, in the same time pay attention to the tonic treatment. Professor Li paid attention to the combination of disease and differentiation, He doesn’t bounded by tradition, combine the new knowledge, theory, achievements of modern medicine, grasp the essence of disease, in general, clear the occurrence, outcomes and prognosis of disease. The flexible application of Erxian Decoction, Chaihuguizhi Decoction have already achieved satisfactory therapeutic effects in the treatment of primary hypertension, Parkinson’s disease.4. The observation on clinical efficacyObjective:To further study the clinical efficacy of treatment of Parkinson’s disease with Professor Li guolie’s regulation of Yin and Yang of liver and kidney therapy, in order to popularize this clinical experience. Methods:Through a 3-monthes course,80 patients with Parkinson’s disease were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group with 40 patients and 40 cases into control group. Among them,43 were male and 37 were female, aged 55-79 years old, and the duration of disease was 0.5-11 years. The treatment group was treated with regulation of Yin and Yang of liver and kidney method and western medicine, and the control group was treated with western medicine, Results:The Non-motor svmptoms score. TCM svmptom score, liver kidnev vin deficiencv svndrome score. PDQ-39 score of treatment group is statistically significantly lower than the control group, (p<0.05). the treatment group did not show better efficacy than the control group in motor symptoms. Although the UPDRS score of the treatment group decreased after treatment, it was not statistically significant compared with the control group (p> 0.05).Conclusion:The results showed that the regulation of Yin and Yang treatment of Parkinson’s disease is the exact clinical efficacy, and it can improve clinical symptoms, reduce the patient’s discomfort, and improve patient quality of life. This method showed better efficacy in improving the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, TCM syndromes, some of the non-motor symptoms than the control group, delayed the progress of the patient’s symptoms. Also has a certain improvement in tremor, rigidity, and other motor symptoms, embodies the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine treatment of Parkinson’s disease. No adverse reactions happened during taking medicine, showed the safety and a bright prospect of clinical application.
