In clinical practice, the surgical indication of colorectal liver metastasis(CRLM) is still in controversy. It is necessary to find the best treatment of CRLM through literature review.Colorectal cancer is the third most frequently diagnosed malignant tumor and the fifth leading cause of cancer mortality in China, with liver being the most common site of involvement. Some adhesion molecules and genes lead the CRLM. At present type-B ultrasonic scanning. CT、MRI and PET/CT scanning are usually used for the diagnose of CRLM. The stage of primary tumor、preoperative CEA level、the number and size of metastases. surgical margin status are considered relating to the prognosis of CRLM. Liver resection is the best chance of cure for patients with CRLM. It was thought that RO resection with the margin less than10mm far from the mass mean lower recurrence and longer survival, while recent research found that with the perioperative chemotherapy, patients didn’t meet the criterion of ’10mm’ or even got Rl resection could get almost the same survival of RO resection. Palliative chemotherapy can be used on the patients that lose the chance of surgery, while Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE). Radiofrequency ablation(RFA) and Percutaneous cryoablation are also safe and effective choices.
