The Study Of Diagnosis And Therapy On Mental Illness In"Shanghanzabinglun"

Mental illness is a difficult topic and tends to cause many sociality and family issues. There exists various treatments on this disease. Domestic tends to do the research combining mental illness from western medicine with "shenzhibing" from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to explore more treatments. Both are not the same but inseparable.This research focuses on the relative literatures and lists some clinical reports for evidences. This research provides four purposes:providing clinical evidence, increasing treatment effects, improving patients’prognosis and life quality, finally, reducing and preventing the mental illness. This research is built by three parts.The first part will describe the concept, definition, pathogeny, symptoms of mental illness from western medicine, and list syndromes and symptoms of "shenzhibing" from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for cross-reference.The second part discourses the origin and concept of "shen yu qingzhi" from the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Then tries to distinguish "shen" and "qingzhi" from the angles of nature and "bianzhenglunzhi". The content focuses on the relationship of "shen"and "qingzhi" among the "qixiejinye" and their interactions.The third part of my research focuses on the diagnosis and therapy on mental illness in "shanghanzabinglun". Firstly, based on "neijing"s principle, the basic way of disease diagnosis for "zhangzhongjing" is to identify "yin"and "yang". All the diseases are rooted by the imbalance of yin and yang. The concept of yinyang-balance goes through from the diagnosis processes watching, smelling, asking and touching to the treatment of prescription.The second process of disease diagnosis in "shanghanzabinglun" is to identify "zangfubingwei"."liujinglilun" was built by "zhangzhongjing" and had given different explanations by doctors later A doctor gives no treatment if he can not verify disease style. Mental illness mostly roots from the unbalance of "Heart System". The second mostly root of mental illness is from "Liver System":the emotional injuries usually reflect on "Liver Meridian" with sputum and depress. The other roots of mental illness are "Spleen System" and "Kidney System"; both are with their own characteristics and "zhongjing" also built his own prescription-medicines. Finally,"Pulm System" is usually a secondary-root of mental illness. A mutual reference with the original disease will make the cause and effect clear in clinical.The third process of disease diagnosis in "shanghanzabinglun" is to identify the disease cause "qixiejin ye"."qi" cause can be found in diverse books but has no dedicated paper,"xie" cause is treated by prompting blood circulation like "taohechengqitangzheng、didangtangzheng". "jinye" cause will also make the palpitation or piss difficulty. The last,"tan" cause is also a common cause in clinical and considered by "zhongjing" frequently.Combination therapy for mental illness is a modern trend. There includes psychotherapy, acupuncture, massage, qigong, medicated bath fumigation, foot applicator, medicated sticking and so on. Many of them are practiced in "shanghanzabinglun". Taboo sedative and diet regimen is the main point "zhongjing" presented in his articles. On diet, no addict, keeping physical active and mental optimistic, then we can prevent sickness.
