Object The present study aims to investigate the Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH)staff s menopause status, the awareness and attitude towards the menopause hormone therapy(MHT), and to evaluate the current opinions of the PUMCH gynecologists and obstetricians towards the MHT.Method Questionnares about menopause and MHT was sent to the PUMCH staff between45to75years and PUMCH gynecologists and obstetricians. All of the parameters were input into a database and analyzed with t-test, x2test and Bidirectional unordered categorical data association test.Result A total of691women staff aged45-75years and99OB/GYNs were interviewed with the above mentioned questionnaires. The mean age ant natural menopause is49.32years. Their menopause transition statuses are similar with the results of the same studies in the country, the hot flash or sweating and sexual trouble affect more severe. The χ2test reveal the association between the occupation and the climacteric syndrome.The staff were trend to attend to a doctor in menopause, mostly were the OB/GYN department, and the main reasons were hot flash, aching in muscles and joint and insomnia. Almost22.29%were using MHT, and36.32%were willing to use it, MHT improved the health score apperently.51.51%OB/GYN thermselves or their family member were using it. The transdermal estrogen was still not prevalent in the OB/GYNs(23.3%).Conclusions The PUMCH staff were more advanced in the awareness of the menopause transition and the knowledgement of MHT,and the use rate of MHT is much higher than the mean average in the country, but they still have some misconceptions in the sexual health after menopause and the risk of MHT. The OB/GYNs and their family member were more willing to use the MHT than the hospital average. The transdermal estrogen was still not trustet in the OB/GYNs.
