With the development of military technology, the current emission devices can notmeet the higher demand for the launch capability at the present stage. The electromagneticlaunch technology has gained much focus for its high speed, simple energy, high efficiency,excellent performance and good controllability. So in the future military and their relatedfields electromagnetic emission technology has a great of research significance and broadapplication prospect.Pulsed power supply technology is one of the key researches of electromagneticemission technology. Inductive energy storage, capacitive energy storage and mechanicalenergy storage are three typical energy storage forms. Inductive pulsed power supplytechnology has attracted more and more attention because inductive energy storage has agreater advantage among the three energy storage forms. But so far, all currently publishedresearches on inductive pulsed power supply research is based on a single module. But onemodule can not provide enough amplitude and width for the load current of the railgunlaunching. So collaborative work of multiple inductive source modules is necessary.The main contents of this paper are the following aspects.1) Several typical topologies of inductive pulse power supply which were done byseveral well-known domestic and foreign research institutions were analyzed. And therelated experiments of these institutions were introduced simply.2) The collaborative triggering discharge of multiple STRETCH meat grinder moduleswas described in detail, and the two STRETCH meat grinder modules was given a detailedanalysis. According to the corresponding criterion, the best delay time and the best loadcurrent of the collaborative triggering discharge of two STRETCH meat grinder moduleswere obtained. The forty STRETCH meat grinder modules were analyzed on the basis oftwo STRETCH meat grinder modules. The design of multiple modules can increase theadjustability of the output current width. And the second trigger can further increase thecurrent width and increase the system efficiency.3) When multiple STRETCH meat grinder modules work together, charging betweeneach module can cause the coupling among modules. In order to reduce the magnetic field coupling among modules, the main switches are opened simultaneously. This method canreduce the coupling among modules in a certain extent, but it can cause some difficulties toengineering applications. In order to analyze easily, we selected two STRETCH meatgrinder modules to analyze. By increasing the ratio of the second inductance values and theload inductance values of the STRETCH meat grinder modules can reduce the mutualcharge among modules, when the ratio reaches50, more than98%current of the moduleswas supplied to the load. And the greater the ratio, the smaller the mutual charging amongmodules.4) After the load launches, most of the remaining energy will be stored in the couplinginductors and capacitors. In order to reuse the surplus energy, the corresponding recoverycircuits were respectively designed for the circuit of multiple STRETCH meat grindermodules that work together and the circuit of the STRETCH meat grinder topology whichwas embedded into an n-stage XRAM topology. Through the analysis of the recoveryresults of the two recovery circuits showed the recovery circuit can make most of the excessenergy recycled to the primary power supply. Energy recovery circuit can improve theenergy efficiency and reduce the energy loss of the whole circuit. The more remainingenergy can be recovered by triggering related thyristors more times.5) The circuit of collaborative triggering discharge of two STRETCH meat grindermodules was set up. The consistency of the theoretical result and the experimental resultshows that by increasing the ratio of the second inductance values and the load inductancevalues of the STRETCH meat grinder modules can reduce the mutual charge amongmodules. And the main switches opened simultaneously can reduce some coupling amongmodules were verified too.In this paper, the collaborative triggering discharge of multiple inductive pulse powersupply modules were studied, and two modules are mainly analyzed in the research. Theexperiment of collaborative triggering discharge of two STRETCH meat grinder modulesvalidated the rightness and feasibility of the theory. The conclusion could be supplied as theexperiment of multiple inductive pulse power supply modules and the design andachievement of miniaturization in inductive pulse power supply module in the future.Thisresult also provides certain theoretical guidance for the practical engineering application.
