Long-distance Water Diversion Projects bring wide influences on nationaleconomic and social developments and ecological environments. There are manyproblems to study and solve. The East Route of the South-to-North Water TransferProject will supply water in2013. The Middle Route of the South-to-North WaterTransfer Project will supply water in2014after flood season. It is necessary to studyon the hydraulic control and engineering operation for full project benefits. The mainstudy results in this thesis are as follows:Based on the succeeded practices and methods, this thesis establishesthree-dimensional hydraulic control model and water quality model. The modelprecision of hydraulic control and water quality is confirmed by the the Nansihu Lakemeasured data.By the comparative studies on the typical regulating reservoir of theSouth-to-North Water Transfer Project, which is the Nansihu Lake, the Beidagangreservoir and the Wangqingtuo reservoir, we can see that the Nansihu Lake is the mostdifficult, because the Nansihu Lake is conflux by the natural river course. The maininfluence factors of the lake’s water quantity and water quality are into lake or out oflake water bodies quality characteristics, assimilative capacity, hydrauliccharacteristic(s), flow field distribution, refresh cycle time and etc. We can resolvewater quantity and water quality problems through make the hydraulic control of theregulating reservoir better.To guaranteed water quantity and water quality, for the Nansihu Lake, we canadopt many measures such as controlling pollution along the east route deeper anddeeper to make water clearly, improving hydraulic control, increasing the rapid ofwater exchange. For the Beidagang reservoir, we can adopt the mode of combineddispatching with the main reservoir and the subordinated reservoir. For theWangqingtuo reservoir, we can refrain from water quality by increasing theobservation times and exchanging the water in time.An index system for river health assessment and a model of evaluating riverecology are established. The system and the model can provide technologies foraquatic ecology restore and can offer reference for evaluating the cannels or rivers andthe lakes or reservoirs of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project.
