The Research On The Innovation Of Furniture Form In Space Context

According to the different needs in space, people deal with the space from the inside and outside organically with the aid of the surrounded form, and design the space styles to satisfy a variety of functions. As a vehicle for people to produce all kinds of activities, the furniture constantly interacts with the space environment.The research purpose of thesis is to explore the cognitive rules of furniture form through the analysis of the space context on furniture about the material and nonmaterial culture, so we can sum up the innovative thinking and methods for the form of furniture and build up the evaluation system of "the field of form and meaning" which can inspect the effect of innovation on furniture form. In research process, I will take literature methods to collect the date of furniture forms and sort out historical evolution of the representative furniture form such as bed, chair, table, and cabinet. I will integrate the main visual features of all types of furniture form by inductive method and extract the common standard of judgment from the related forms. I will organize many concepts and discusses of furniture systematically by experienced methods, and make the content of the material and nonmaterial culture and the objective and subjective criteria for the understanding of space more comprehensive. I will analyse the design case on how to dissolve the desk and chair into the spatial theme with the method of the case study. I will focus on analysis of all kinds of furniture with the method of analysis, and investigate the characteristic of change on the furniture form with the comparison between eight subjective index and objective indicators in 23. With interdisciplinary study I will expand the "field" concept, which is come from the subjects such as psychology, physics, architecture, landscape architecture, and establish the concept of "the field of form and meaning" in order to make furniture form to get a more comprehensive interpretation.On the research content, the thesis summarize the informational content of the material and nonmaterial culture from the outer space of furniture forms, and generalize the law of development on the normal and anomaly from the furniture form. The thesis analyzes the characteristics of thinking innovation and method on the furniture design form the innovation results, and builds the dialogue mechanism of "the field of form and meaning" which unified the objective and subjective factors from the evaluation for furniture from. So on the results, the thesis thinks:It is value that the innovation of the form on furniture should put into the space of the "relationship" and should connect with the various factors in space; The generated root of all kinds of furniture get the interpretation clearly; With the aid of the language characteristics of all kinds of parts of speech, innovative ways gain new understanding for the form of furniture; The established system of "the field of form and meaning" can judge and correct all kinds of furniture form in the comprehensive and reasonable way.All in all, the innovation process of furniture form is the process of seeking novelty, which based on the normal thinking. However the anomaly is suitable or not, which not only balanced by various factors of the material and nonmaterial culture, but restricted by the different degree of people’s thinking. When using "dynamic" operation of thinking to open the door of anomaly, we can maximize to rich the form of the furniture world. According to the evaluation of "the field of form and meaning",we can find the best style of form, which accord with the needs of sometime, somewhere and someone (collective or individual), and create the new way of life to lead the trend of fashion.
