Different degrees of salinized soil in a typical coastal salinized test zone in the Yellow RiverDelta were treated by irrigation with secondary effluent from a paper mill. The ameliorationeffects on different degrees of salinized soil were evaluated according to the amelioration of soiland possible risk caused. The author suggests amending severely sanlinized soil (saline soil) bycombining multiple methods. In this study, commonly used waste stuff straw, rotten straw andchick manure were used as organic amendments, and reclaimed water was used as source ofirrigation. Physicochemical properties, profile of microorganism, and dynamic change of enzymeactivity of soil amended by combining organic amendment and reclaimed water were studied. Forbetter amelioration effect, organic amendments and administration amount thereof were screened.Feasibility and amelioration effects amended by combining organic amendment and reclaimedwater were investigated. Patterns and properties of water and salt movement, short-term transfer oforganic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus during the process of amendment were also investigated.Possible mechanism for amelioration of salinized soil using organic amendment in combinationwith reclaimed water was discussed. The present study provides a theoretical basis and technicalsupport for the amelioration of severely salinized soil of this aera.
