Through theoretical analysis and analysis of a large number of coal seam floor water bursting cases, the evaluation technologies and methods of the new coal seam floor water bursting, which is the technology of the information fusion based on GIS and the vulnerability index method, are put forward based on the application of modern information and mathematical techniques. Then, based on the different combinations of the coal seams and aquifers, four types of water bursting from coal seam floor are proposed: a single coal seam and a single aquifer, a single coal seam and multi-aquifers, multi-coal seams and a single aquifer, multi-coal seams and multi-aquifers. According to the analysis of the main factors controlling the water bursting from coal seam floor and their quantitative indexes, the quantitative index system are established. Then, the evaluation system of the coal floor water bursting is established based on the systematically study of the four types of coal floor water bursting. Further, the AHP vulnerability index method based on GIS is used to predict four types of water bursting from the coal seam floor in Sanhejian coal mine, Pingyu No.1coal mine, Chengzhuang coal mine and Shaqu coal mine. And the evaluation results, which reflect the nonlinear dynamical characteristics of the coal seam floor water bursting that controlled by multiple factors, coincide with the actual situation. In a word, the new method, provides a better way to solve the difficult problems in evaluating and forecasting the coal seam floor water bursting.
