Deriving from the scientific visualization, the information visualization and the visual analytics step by step, the geovisual analytics has yielded substantial results concerning theories, methods and techniques. It has been a research focus in current geosciences field, providing significant means for human beings’insights about the connotation of the data and for human being’s understanding of the law of the data’s connotation. The research on the land border geovisual analytics technique aims at introducing the theories and the methods of geovisual analytics into the land border management, enriching the visualization methods and interaction means of the data in land border management tasks, and grasping human beings’perception and cognitive ability, so as to provide assistant decision support for the land border management by a better integration of human intelligence and machine intelligence. This dissertation’s main research contents and innovations are reflected as below:(1) This dissertation clarifies the principal research object through analyzing the types, composition and requirement of the land border data. It defines the research content by analyzing concepts like geovisual analytics and land border demarcation negotiation; puts forward the fundamental principles of land border gevisual analytics through analyzing the four-dimensional cognitive model, the visual process model and space cognitive process of the land border management; and constructs a conceptual framework and a logical framework of the land border management by researching on the visual design and interactive analysis technique of the data.(2) This dissertation analyzes the types and content of the documentation and points out the problems in contemporary management. It compares existing regional subdivision methods and builds the model of the regional hierarchical subdivision model based on map sheet. This dissertation also succeeds in hierarchically subdividing the border surrounding area and discussing problems related to the regional hierarchy subdivision model. The dissertation achieves space management of the border documents based on this model and proposes a hierarchy space searching method for the documents and therefore achieves the vitalization searching for the documents. This dissertation also makes the visual analytics on the hierarchy relations and content of the documents based on the hyperbolic chart, plate graph hierarchy and multi-window display technique.(3) This dissertation analyzes the formation and the pre-processing of the border thematic data; discusses the applicable scenes and the problems existed in the visualization methods of the multi-dimensional spatial data; designs the parametrized template of the analysis of the disputed resource area; and put forwards a visual analytics method of the disputed resource based on the demarcation line to support visual analytics of various schemes. This dissertation also builds up an index system for evaluating the importance of the disputed resource, puts forward a method of weight assignment on the basis of the combination of entropy method and analytics hierarchy process to improve the visual analytics and evaluation method of the existing parallel coordinate plot and the radar map, and ranks the importance of various dispute areas from a quantitative perspective to support the negotiation of demarcation process.(4) The dissertation analyses the features of surrounding transaction labeling data and common internet website service platform. It designs three labeling models and achieves the visualization custom of the labeling styles. This dissertation proposes the layer organization method and make the visualization share of multi user labeling data available. The dissertation also puts forwards a visualization expression method of geographic events based on the timeline, providing an illustrated, a-dimensional imaged and various expression methods for geographic unit related to a certain theme.(5) This dissertation researches and develops the prototype system of the land border demarcation negotiation and the border information publishing system based on the above researches, and tests the visualization method and the interactive mean put forward in this dissertation by the desktop and the B/S service client respectively.
