The inevitable trend of geographic information service development become networking or griding, especially in the wireless network supporting environment such as the mobile internet, Internet of things, etc., all people surveying and mapping with geographic context-awareness more embody the characteristics of ubiquitous geographic information(UBGI) service. The field essence of individualized geographic information service is global massive spatial information update association and active service based on internet (ubiquitous network) UBGI automatic discovery, which provide users by the mode of what you see is what you get, intelligently, real-time, efficiently. How to describe UBGI systematically in the trend of geographical information generalization, and find out the target geographic information in the current Web spatial database of internet information service quickly, automatically, and accurately, which has become the bottleneck for provide effective geographic information service to the masses expediently, reliably, at same time, ensure geographic information security and effectiveness.This work was supported by part by Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China, intensive research from four levels on the general theoretical framework of internet UBGI, expression and discriminant model model, meta search model for internet GIS service, and retrieval and mining of Web geographic database by use the technologies and methods of information retrieval, geographic spatial database, artificial intelligence and data mining. Research on theoretical methods and key technologies of internet UBGI automatic discovery has yielded some results. The main achievements are described as follows:(1) Based on GIS development perspective with the domestic and foreign related research situation, the internet ubiquity evolution and geographical features of geographic information to be analyzed, the field characteristics of GIS is evolving from specific professional application to UBGI service with the background of the next generation internet as the representative of mobile internet and Internet of things, the ubiquitous computing as the representative of cloud computing gradually. Through the instance analytical form refine the architechture of UBGI service, expound its main content, key technology and implementation method. Describes the formal definition and essence of ubiquitous geographic information from that internet GIS is the technical realization of the primary stage for UBGI service.(2) According to the problem of expression and discriminant for internet UBGI, the solutions by build geographic ontology oriented geographic information objects is proposed. Built the internet UBGI distinguishing knowledge base with classification sample library, lineage sorting database, classification factor database, type recognition model base and evaluation decision tree data. Research the discriminant model and knowledge base, classification evaluation factor and process classification pedigree, and discrimination processing initially.(3) According to the key technical problem of internet UBGI automatic discovery, a framework of meta search engine model for internet geographic information service is constructed. Offers solution, the idea of design and the detailed realization process of the internet information service meta search model, and thoughts and methods of massive geographic data storage.(4) According to the actual problem of Web geospatial database for geographic information flexible query too bad, the intelligent degree and the efficiency too low in meta search model, the solutions and related algorithm from semantic similarity, context preference, decision tree and fuzzy theory is proposed, and further evaluation and test.(5) Based on the research of data expression, framework model and algorithm, a prototype system is designed by different data source measurement and analysis. Then, describes typical service node architecture, operation environment, deployed application module and main performance index from the point of view of the actual business function by application and demonstration project in details, and analyse the effect of prototype system, so it is proved that the validity and enforceability of the theory, technology and method proposed in this paper.
