In recent years, complex pupil distribution has been widespread concerned, it may increase the effective aperture of optical system and improve the resolution based on an existing optical design,processing,manufacturing, so complex pupil has very broad application prospects. However, the relevant research is fragmented in this area, mostly for one or a few characteristics analysis of a certain distribution. To speed up the utility process of this concept and be used in actual large aperture optical system, the paper starts with the actual demand through the optical system, thesis studies the optical properties of multiple typical complex pupil distribution from the basic theory connotation and actual engineering parameters fully.Basic theory studies include: the incoherent imaging principle of complex pupil, the in-phase requirement of complex pupil optical systems, the common parameters of telescopic imaging system.Practical engineering studies include: the obscure effect of annular distribution, how to determine wavefront aberration, discussion about defocus influence on annular wavefront aberration of different fill factor, point spread function,modulation transfer function and the depth of focus analysis on several familiar pupil distribution, how the location of phase difference and defects can effect MTF of optical system, and finally built an experimental device for the imaging verification of several usual pupil sturcture.In this paper, analysis is based on overall system, using a consistent evaluation system, and relevant conclusions can run through from the optical design, optical machining to the final system implementation. This paper laies a solid foundation in promoting application of complex distribute optical system and has outstanding significance both in theory and in project.
