With the development of pharmaceutical science and technology, public attention towards the quality of life, and the increasingly drastic marketing competition, drug R&D becomes harder and harder. Pharmaceutical companies must develop their own knowledge capital, effectively utilize knowledge in drug R&D, and maximize knowledge effectiveness. Although part of pharmaceutical companies in our country have introduced knowledge management into drug R&D, the implementation of knowledge sharing which is the center of knowledge management is still in a chaotic and non-target state. This situation puts forward new requests to the research of knowledge sharing in drug R&D.In this essay relative literatures of knowledge sharing and drug R&D are reviewed, the gap and shortage of research about knowledge sharing in drug R&D are proposed, at the same time the necessity and originality of this research are highlighted. Compared with general product development, the process of drug R&D has such characteristics as deferment, phase and standard. Based on the analysis of the sources and composition of knowledge in drug R&D, the knowledge-centric process of drug R&D is described, the knowledge value chain in drug R&D is constructed, and the knowledge sharing mechanisms are deeply analyzed.Based on the study of rapidly inside and outside environment changing and barriers of knowledge sharing in drug R&D, the relation model between influence factors, knowledge sharing and drug R&D performance is brought. By a method integrating qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis and combining theoretical analyses with demonstration proof-test, knowledge sharing has a pushing effect on increasing drug R&D performance through improving personal factors, organizational factors and technical factors. The contents and main conclusions in this paper include:Firstly, the related researches about influence factors, knowledge sharing and drug R&D performance are systematically investigated. Simultaneously the corresponding hypotheses are developed;Secondly, assessment indexes of drug R&D performance are filtered through fuzzy Delphi method, measuring scales of knowledge sharing and its influence factors are proposed, which are proved to have good reliability and validity and lay the foundation for further study;Thirdly, based on the introduction of data analysis methods, the pharmaceutical companies in Tianjin, Shanxi province, Heilongjiang province and Jiangsu province are taken as objects. According to survey data, the theoretical model is analyzed by SEM method. As a result, research objects are taken reasonably, sample data which fellow a normal distribution have the value of further analysis, the structure model has a good fitness to the data. Therefore, key factors for implementation of knowledge sharing in drug R&D include self-efficacy, affective trust, cognitive trust, organization structure, organization learning, and application of information technology, the successful implementation of knowledge sharing can facilitate the improving of drug R&D performance.
