| The global trade in services grows at a greater speed than that in merchandises,at the same time,its significance for economic growth is strengtheming.Therefore,the research for services trade and economic growth is more important than ever.The paper consists of 8 parts.Part 1,foreword,gives an introduction of the backgroud for the study,contribution of the study,study methods,writing thoughts,the framework and some main innovations.Part 2 presents a review of foreign and domestic literatures,and puts more emphasis on foreign literatures on trade in services and economic growth.Part 3 details some baisic theory relating to trade in services, including the concept of service,service tradability and its trade forms,comparative advantage and the causes of services trade,as well as the compensation between services trade and merchandise trade.Part 4,concerntrating on the theoretical and empirical analysis of the competitive advantage for trade in services,firstly discusses the determinants of the competitive advantage for trade in services from the aspect of factor endowment,technology,demand difference and scale economy;then gives an analysis of the overall and specific competitive advantage for services trade of China; furthermore,presents a comparative study on the competitive advantage for services trade based on the experiences of 23 countries(regions).Part 5 firstly focuses on the statement of the meaning of services trade liberalization and the measuring methods for services trade barriers;then compares the degree of services trade liberalization of 23 countries(regions);and after that analyzes the influences of services trade liberalization on whole economy and gives a conintegration test of that;lastly pays a particular consideration to the services trade liberalization and the economic growth of developing countries.Part 6 probes into the interactive mechanism between services trade and economic growth.The economic growth prompts the development of services sector,which confers an active impact on services trade.In return,both service export and service import act as a stimulative power for economic growth. Part 7,an empirical study on services trade and economic growth,firstly has a test on Chinese data,coming to the conlusion that the economic growth has no significant pulling-effect on service trade of China,meanwhile,service export is a distinct driving-power for Chinese economic growth;then tests a panel data covering 22 countries(regions),which testifies the existing of the interactive mechanism between services trade and economic growth.Part 8,a concluding of the paper,generalizes the main points of view and shortcomings,also gives some suggestions for future researches. |
