One of the most important problems Chinese enterprises groups are facing during the process of resource management is that they pay too much attention to the resource agents; while ignore the resource synergy between one kind of resource and the other in the enterprise group. This paper firstly presents the research issues according to the "resource management dilemma" that many Chinese enterprises groups are facing currently. Then, from the self-organization enterprise resource theory and enterprise group theory perspective, academic literatures on synergy in resource management are reviewed, some limitations in current academic researches are pointed out and some issues that need to be discussed further are identified. Based on the above discussions, the dissertation studies in-depth the Enterprise Group Resource Synergy Management (EGRSM); it contains the following four parts:1. Analyze the self-organization nature in the concept of enterprise group resource management. The article applies synergy, dissipative structure, entropy theory in self-organization theory, and describes the critical impact of self-organization theory in the research of the enterprise group resource synergy management.2. Define the concept of enterprise group resource synergy management and build its management framework. The enterprise group resource synergy management is a concept with multi-level and multi-dimension. A management model of resource synergy, EGRSM is developed in this paper and its implementation plan is proposed.3. Identify the order parameter of the enterprise group resource synergy. Based on the analysis of the impact on the enterprise group resource synergy and order parameter, the paper indicates that the key success factors are the four basic capabilities within the enterprise group, management synergy ability, technology synergy ability, organization synergy ability and culture synergy ability.4. Develop the Degree of Resource Synergy (DRS) model. With the studies in the resource synergy condition, order parameter identification and the implementation path of resource synergy, a model of Degree of Resource Synergy (DRS) has been provided. A case study is conducted toward the DRS of Jie Fang Daily.The innovations of this dissertation are three: 1) studying the resource synergy management from a cross-organization point of view; 2) identifying the order parameter of enterprise group resource synergy management; 3) developing a theoretical framework of the enterprise group resource synergy management.
