Systematic Research On Recreation Development Around Metropolis

This dissertation discusses the theory and method of Recreation development system around Metropolis (ReDSAM), which considers recreation activity to be a series of activity system that consists of indoor recreation, community recreation, urban recreation, around metropolis recreation and touring and vacationing home and abroad. Recreation around Metropolis (ReAM) is defined as the leisure activity having the area around metropolis as the destination by urban residents, or the touring activity around the destination city by tourists. Research method used are theory review field research, system analysis and evaluation. On the basis of summarizing the research progress in ReAM home and abroad, it's concluded that the related research showed much deficiency in ReAM system analysis and evaluation, theory and method of recreation development, evolvement of recreation area, landscape protection of suburbs. In the dissertation, the concept of Recreation Development System around Metropolis is proposed, which is the object of ReAM development; recreation demand theory, recreation product theory, recreation spatial structure theory are summarized; recreation market research, competition analysis and prediction method are discussed; ReAM activity pedigree and ReAM spatial organization are proposed, which discusses the recreation spatial structure at different levels as scenic spots, scenic area and destination, and revels the law recreation spatial evolvement. The recreation development system process and related technology are proposed, which consists of the concept designing, planning and designing, construction and operation. Quantitative model is built for the evaluation of recreation development system, which is used in case study. Having Wuhan city as a case, type and the spatial structure character of ReBAM, the forming mechanism of ReBAM and its spatial evolvement rules are analyzed. Finally, some contents and measures are proposed to protect the landscape, especially the visual landscape in the ReAM development.The innovation of the dissertation mainly lies in the proposal of the idea to set up the system of Recreation Development System around Metropolis ,and discuss it's structure and function,and discuss the running rules of the system & recreational areas development also by system dynamics.The second innovation is the proposal of the systematical evaluation method on the development of ReAM, which insists that the evaluation should be conducted from the visitor satisfaction index and the sustainable development at the same time. Also, the RDVSI (Recreational Destination Visitor Satisfaction Index) model, RDVSI evaluation system and the Recreational Destination sustainable development evaluation system are built, which breaks the traditional idea to cognize the sustainable development of the recreation industry from the point of recreational destinations.The third innovation is the proposal of"double origin theory", which means the originally wild principle in he development of around metropolis natural landscape resources, and the originally true principle in the development of the cultural landscape resources.
