The Study Of The Urban Spatial Development Of The Resource-based City In China

Resource-based city refers a city type of special function based on natural resources like mineral resources, forest resource, etc and taking resource exportation and primary processing as pillar industry, which is an important city type in China and demonstrates primary characteristics of a city and many unique development features. The spatial development of resource-based city is a process that scale of urban space constantly expands, structure of urban space constantly optimizes and its function constantly perfects. Systematic study on the law and operation mechanism of urban spatial development of this in-a-blind city type to determine reasonable adjustment thoughts and measures and create a favorable carrier system for the transformation of resource-based city through optimization of urban spatial development has significant theoretic and practical meaning. This paper falls into five chapters, starting from basic concepts and probing into general rules of spatial development of resource-based city and history, operation mechanism, adjustment thoughts, etc of spatial development of China's resource-based city.The first chapter is the theoretic preparation section, defining resource-based city and urban spatial development based on existing studies and making a systematic literature review on foreign and domestic studies on resource-based city and urban spatial development.The second chapter mainly focuses on location base of urban spatial development of a resource-based city, discussing the foundation of generation and development of a resource-based city and its development cycle from comparative advantage and agglomeration economy perspectives, admitting city location and its agglomeration scale is the base of urban spatial development and studying resource-based city has a typical raw-material-oriented location selection and the scale characteristics and composition of urban spatial development of a resource-based city featuring location agglomeration.The third chapter theoretically studies urban spatial development optimization on space structure, space function, space development organization, etc. this chapter addresses the unique"double duality"spatial structure of resource-based urban spatial development and structural characteristics of various spatial elements such as industrial space, living and social space, ecologic and public space, studies the impact of urban spatial development ideas and models on urban spatial function development, development rules of urban spatial development and special urban spatial development issues from demand-supply angle, and discusses the"self-organization"rule of resource-based urban spatial development, and"exterior-organization"process of spatial organizing subjects like enterprise, government and community, coordination mechanism and space decision making pattern.The fourth chapter makes a review and analysis of history and current situation of resource-based city and its urban spatial development, firstly reviewing development background of China's resource-based city and its urban social and economic and spatial development condition in pre-industrial period, colony economy period, planning economy period, economic system transition period and market economy period, and summarizing characteristics of urban spatial development in different periods, then systematically analyzing and concluding current characteristics and development problems of China's resource-based urban spatial development from urban social and economic development, space location, urban space agglomeration scale, urban spatial structure and urban spatial function.The fifth chapter studies optimization adjustment of China's resource-based urban spatial development, based on analysis and summary of development mechanism of China's resource-based urban space, proposes the general thoughts for the society, economy and urban transformation of resource-based city, and studies spatial development organization of China's resource-based city in transitional period from creating transformation-favorable urban function space, constructing competitive urban spatial structure, stipulating local government's space policy centered on market, laws, democracy and information, etc.
