Tibet's Agriculture Sustainable Development Strategy

Tibet is a global unique area with fragile natural ecological environment and distinctive traditional culture of nationality, it is now clear that the theories and methodologies of multi-disciplinary are necessary for the integrated studies on the strategy of agricultural sustainable development of Tibet. Based upon reviews of previous researches and theories, this dissertation explored new methodologies and theories for the integrated studies of Tibet.Based on comparison and analysis on the characteristics and functions of combining agriculture with animal husbandry, theoretical framework of sustainable development strategy to combine agriculture with animal husbandry was developed. With the help of the innovated theoretical framework, we can examine and evaluate status type of the capacity of sustainable development to combine agriculture with animal husbandry, and establish strategic patterns of sustainable development of combining agriculture with animal husbandry in different regions of Tibet, which is helpful for decision-making and strategic option of agricultural sustainable development in Tibet.In the process of studying the sustainable development strategy of Tibetan agriculture, the remarkable characteristics of methodologies for the dissertation are to apply long-term analysis and short-term analysis, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, static analysis and dynamic analysis etc. into the researches. With the help of the above mentioned methodologies, the dissertation aimed to analyses factors of restraining agricultural development of Tibet, find the immanently basic law and intrinsic features of agricultural sustainable development and provide scientific basis for future agricultural development.The dissertation focuses on the middle reaches of Yarlung Zangbo river, the key regions of Tibetan agriculture and animal husbandry, through analysis, the main conclusions are the thriving and prosperous development of Tibet economy in 21stcentury depend on agriculture, animal husbandry and the industries linked to agriculture and animal husbandry. The industries systems of future Tibet economy should focus on agriculture, animal husbandry and the related industries to agriculture and animal husbandry in order to push forward economic development and prosperity of nationalities.
