Tourism has become an industry in the world and has been publicly recognized in the economic structure, has great potentiality. China is now in the development progress of tourism, and becomes the sixth tourist resort of the world, its revenue has surpassed 4% of the world.During the course of tourism development, the tourism in China will become the main industry. Owing to the features of tourism, it can significantly promote the development of regional economy, tourism is related with other industries, has good economic effect and improve employment.The revenue of tourism in Urumqi is 13.6% of the GDP, and tourism has drived almost every section of national economy. But it lacks the relative research, especially such problems like how much tourism creates income and employment for regional economy, and related degree with other industries, and tourism sustainable development haven't been solved yet. Therefore, it has the great significance to construct the modern international city for Urumqi by studying the theory and practice of tourism impact. The research result will have some meaning for developing tourism economy, laying down relative policies for the government.The paper has seven chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, states the current status of tourism economy and prospect, discusses the impact on sections of national economy, and the meaning of the research. The traditional method to ascertain tourism impact by tourism demand has been changed to a new analysis vision, that is, tourism supply takes the place of tourism demand, it can be analyzed by statistics data.The second chapter is the discussion of theory of tourism economic impact. It introduces and analyzes the research on tourism economic impact by some experts and chooses the multiplier theory by Archer , Input-output model by Leotief, and questions and answers for the basic method.The third chapter is the theoretical analysis of economic impact. The six factors of traveling, accommodation, shopping and entertainment have relation with other industries, showing as direct impact, indirect impact and induced impact.
