Study On Urban RBD Development Driving Mechanism In China

It is of great significance to study the driving mechanism and relative theories of the urban RBD which is now spreading out rapidly in China. This paper, with the overall framework of "Judging—Development requirements—Driving factors—Driving Mechanism" of the urban RBD, studies the urban RBD driving mechanism and the relative theories of its development systematically.The paper includes 8 chapters:Chapter1 is a brief introduction. Based on an analysis of the research background and a synthesis of relative achievements in this field, it gives out a full exposition of the topic's selecting and the necessity of this study. At the same time, it illustrates the general framework, the methods as well as the case selecting of this study;Chapter2 illustrates the paper's theoretical foundation which touched on a wide range of theories such as enterprise aggregation theory and location theory of geography,supply and demand theory of economics, and theories of psychology etc.Chapter3 illustrates the features and functions of the urban RBD, and put forward an index system of judging the urban RBD based on recognition of its conception. The index system includes three senior level indexes and over ten second level indexes.In order to obtain the spatial scope and structure of the urban RBD, the paper carries out an empirical study on Shanghai Chenghuangmiao and Suzhou Guanqianjie with the above index system, which reveals that a circle spatial structure has been formed in the urban RBD of Shanghai and Suzhou. And then a Circle Spatial Structure theory of the mature urban RBD is put forward under the analysis of the case studies. The theory indicates that the spatial structure of a mature urban RBD presents typical circle spatial characters, and the three circles are Kernel Circle, Marginal Circle and Radiation Circle. The paper takes the first two circles as the typical spatial scope of the urban RBD from the narrow sense.Finally, the chapter simply discerns the differences between the urban RBD and other business districts such as the CBD;Chapter4 mainly discusses the development situation of the urban RBD in China.
