Since 1990's, economic globalization and integration of regional economy have been two essential traits of world economic development. With the globalization and integration hand in hand, regional cooperation becomes a preeminent character, being increasingly intensified. Because of the peculiarity of the heterogeneous member, East Asia, driven by market factors, has formed tight economic network, but it failed to emit the spilled-out effects of economic integration thoroughly, which caused that setting up of regional institution was still left behind. Otherwise, the loosening of subjections of traditional integration form such as homogeneous members becomes the background of East Asia integration progress. Under this condition, studying the certainty of integration of East Asia economy and how to realize this integration carries on crucial theoretical and practical importance.The perspective of this dissertation lies in the institutional change process of East Asia integration from regionalization to regionalism. Owing to the structure of heterogeneous members, East Asia integration steps from below to above regionalization process. Driven by market, economic interdependence is formed. But transaction costs among each economic area is still high, which rendered further classification risky, because of the unsymmetry of the interdependence. This shows the nullification of regionalization, leading to the demand of regionalism. After research, in the future, the aim of East Asia economic regionalism is supposed to be oriented in the emission of spilled- out effects, eliminating contradictions between china and Japan, reducing the negative influence of American factor, promoting east Asia model to mature market economic mechanism, strengthening the appeal to outside. So practically, the institutional transformation of east Asia integration is innovation and breakthrough of theories of integration.
