The Research On The Relationship Between Infrastructure Investment And Urbanization Process

For a long time, the planned economy seriously restrained the investment and development of infrastructure in China. The deficient investment scale, unreasonable structure, low efficiency of management, unsound system of supervision checked the development of cities and the social economy to some extent. Since the reform and opening-up of China in 1978, with the continuous development of social economy, the urbanization process tended to accelerate its developing pace. With the densitication of population and enlargement of urban scale, the assembling and centralizing function of cities began to emerge. The demand for investment in infrastructure with high quality and efficiency was also increased. Whereas, the research on the relationship between the infrastructure investment and urbanization process will have a great significance on the urban development and social economic growth, the reform of infrastructure investment and financing system, and constant increase of urbanization level.The essential theories of economics, urbanization, statistics, as well as the relevant theoretical knowledge about the architecture economics, city economics, public economics, regional economics, econometrics, economics of regulation, economic increase, strategies of urban development, infrastructure investment and financing are applied to the research of the dissertation. On the basis of research and sample analysis, the detertation deduces the conclusion that the research targets are in accordance with practical experience and puts forward regulations and proposals on harmonizing the relationship between infractructure investment and urbanization process.Infrastructure is the material carrier upon which the subsistence and development of cities rely. They are the production and living conditions as well as the important material guarantee in the display of the radiative effects of cities.
