One of the immediate concerns in enterprise research is how to respond to the increasing uncertainty of external environment along with the process of economic globalization. It's urgent to develop new knowledge creative theory of enterprises, because there are some new trends and also some problems in this area, such as new characteristics of knowledge and knowledge activities, the application of complex science in the research of human social groups, and the isolation of knowledge management theory and practice.The aim of this dissertation is to develop holistic enterprise knowledge creation and conversion theory, by which the characteristic and mechanism of this process can be better understood.The knowledge creation and conversion theory was constructed by the means of inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning based on literature review. The whole research path was through interdisciplinary approach, and the methods of complexity science, knowledge management and organizational learning was introduced.The main research contents and innovation points are as following:The concept of enterprise knowledge creation and conversion was proposed, which was developed through process philosophy, genetic epistemology, complex science and the theory of emergence.Holistic enterprise knowledge creation and conversion theory was constructed to analyze knowledge emergence in the systems of human beings by introducing new development of contextual complexity research, which regarded enterprise as an open and independence human complex system.Based on enterprise knowledge demand, knowledge creative activities were directly combined with business process and value creation activities. The operation mechanism and accomplish mechanism was researched. According to the degree of context, knowledge can be managed by content management method and context management method. After conducting a deep case study of Jietong Group, the theory and model were tested.
