In the environment of the globalization, the competitive advantages of the enterprises more and more depend on the development and utilization of the knowledge resources. It is important for construction companies, which is the organizational structure based on project, to utilize knowledge to guide the project deployment effectively. Lots of researches have paid heavy attention to the antecedent variables of the performance, such as strategy, process, IT, structure, culture, etc. But with the development of knowledge economy, scholars have focused on knowledge management as the main factors for the influence on performance, which means knowledge management has a positive impact on project performance. As one of the core activities of the knowledge processes, knowledge sharing has an effective leverage on knowledge resources deposition, utilization, and innovation. Foucus on the core concept of project knowledge sharing, we selected a group of sample from the constructing enterprises and carried out a three stages research.First of all, we conducted a thorough literature review and made a qualitative interview. Based on these, we can give a integrated definition about the project knowledge sharing, which is the process of broadcasting and transaction of knowledge, throuth which project team, members can share his knowledge with the others. The dissertation further specifies three project knowledge sharing dimensions:knowledge sharing withing the project, knowledge sharing among the projects, organizational knowledge sharing activities. Using the data of the members from the construction project, a reliable and valid three-dimension scale is developed. Then, we carried out a comprehensive research about the project mangement and knowledge management theory. After that, we built up a theoretical model about the relationship between project knowledge sharing and project performance, which contains three dimensions of project knowledge sharing. Meanwhile, innovation and cooperation play a mediate role in the realtionship. We made the investigation based on the theoretical model. The results show that among the three dimensions of project knowledge sharing, organizational knowledge sharing activities has the most significant effect on innovation and cooperation. The results also indicate that organizational knowledge sharing activities influence the knowledge sharing withing the project and the knowledge sharing among the projects positively at the same time. Besides, innovation and cooperation play immediate roles between the relationship of project knowledge sharing and project performance. Finally, we divided the sample into two groups by the project life stages. We examine the theortical model in the two different groups. The results show the theortical model is valid and reliable in the two stages, which verify the moderate effect of project stage during the relationship of knowledge sharing and project performance. Futhermore, there is adequate evidences show that the earlier initializing the project knowledge sharing activities, the better project performance we can get.
