There is a series of technology problems need to be resolved for the current service composition, which makes the service composition application limits to narrow application domains and the small network area. The service composition oriented hierarchical service overlay network (HON) is proposed based on deeply analysis of service composition features, and the predominance of overlay network in supporting new application. Several of the key technologies are resolved. (1) The construction of service composition oriented hierarchical overlay network are researched, which contains three sub-questions, and they are the composition agent placement problem (CAPP), the overlay link selection problem (OLSP), and the super node selection problem (SNSP). GA_CAPP, ICA_OLSP and ICA_SNSP algorithms are used to solve the above three problems. (2) The two-tier service placement strategy based on field classification is proposed. The service is deployed based on fully consideration of correlation between different fields and the correlation of various service components within a field. (3) The service composition model and service composition mechanism is proposed based on HSON. Petri net reachability tree is adopted to verify sound and complete theorem, and analyze the dynamic features of composed service. (4) The composed service routing problem based on HSON is researched, which contains intra-domain composed-service routing problem (CRP) and inter-domain composed-service routing problem (ICRP) according to the features of HSON architecture and routing mechanism. Both liner-structured and parallel-structured composed service routing problem are considered. So they are modelled respectively and the improved ants algorithm and genetic algorithm are used to solve them.
