Due to the high complexity and drastic change of information battlefield, measure of C2 organizational effectiveness is becoming more precise, intelligent and practical. The traditional method used in measure of C2 organizational effectiveness is hard to reflect the real effectiveness of C2 organization in complex mission environment, because it doesn't take into consideration the influence of the dynamics and uncertainties of complex missions, and has no promptness in the process of measurement. A new way, therefore, must be investigated to meet the needs of measure of C2 organizational effectiveness.Following the developing trend of C2 organizational effectiveness measurement research, this thesis introduced exploratory analysis into the process of measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, mainly investigated the exploratory analysis method used in measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, constructed an exploratory analysis framework for measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, and explored the related technology and methods of importance. The major work and originalities in this thesis are as follows:1. An exploratory analysis framework for the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness.This thesis analyzed the connotation and denotation of C2 organization and measure of C2 organizational effectiveness. Based on the research of the characteristics and theories of exploratory analysis, an exploratory analysis framework for the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness was constructed. The bottom-up four vertical hierarchies of this framework are the knowledge level, technical level, operation level and process level. In which, the knowledge level is knowledge base of exploratory analysis to the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, the technical level had the relevant technologies and methods defined, the operation level gave the definite contents need to be addressed in exploratory analysis of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, and the process level divided the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness based on the exploratory analysis into three stages: exploratory factors acquisition, exploratory modeling and exploratory analysis. This exploratory analysis framework for the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness can respond with promptness to the drastic change of the complex mission environment of C2 organization and thus reflect the practical needs of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness. Based on this framework, a research plan is designed for the related technology and methods. The major technology and methods involved were investigated respectively in the following three parts: exploratory factors acquisition, exploratory modeling and exploratory analysis. The problem of acquiring the exploratory factors of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness was investigated, and the process of exploratory factors acquisition was programmed.2. Granular computing based exploratory modeling method for the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness.To meet the demands of exploratory modeling for the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, this thesis proposed granular principles of exploratory analysis model, constructed a granular computing based exploratory model. This thesis proposed three methods for the acquisition of the granular of exploratory analysis model, which were factors granularing, levels granularing and commixture granularing, and constituted the level associatio and the logical level associatio to analyze the reroactiity for the granular computing based exploratory model. The granular computing based exploratory model gave a general mathematical description of exploratory modeling and laid the theoretical basis for problem description in the process of exploratory analysis. Based on these, this thesis carried an in-depth research into the model construction, granular acquisition and attribute function formation in the exploratory model, which aimed at solving the specific problem of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness.3. Exploratory space construction and exploratory programming mechanism of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness.This thesis constructed an exploratory space framework for the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, in which the problems of exploratory space construction and programming were further divided into three parts: the description, the construction and programming of exploratory space. For the description problem, exploratory space was divided into four subspaces: mission, capacity, policy, and battlefield environment. Each subspace was described by an attribute table, the combination of which formed a standard description of the whole exploratory space. The way to constructe four subspaces were proposed respectively, which made the exploratory space could be generated automatically. Based on the design of experiments, an exploratory programming mechanism for the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness was proposed. This mechanism was based on the setting of constraint mechanism to prune the exploratory space. According to the characteristics of the exploratory space after pruning, and considering the respective advantages of factorial design, orthogonal design, as well as of uniform design, this mechanism got a reasonable approach to the design of experiments to programming the exploratory path, which made the complex measure problem of C2 organizational effectiveness would still be solved by the exploratory analysis, and widened the application scope of exploratory analysis in the research of measure of C2 organizational effectiveness.4. Exploratory analysis experiment of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness.Guided by the developing trend of practicality of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, this thesis regulated the exploratory analysis experiment of the measure of C2 organizational effectiveness, defining exploratory analysis experiment as four iteratively gradual processes: experiment environment construction, experiment scheme design, experiment scheme execution, and experiment results analysis. This thesis designed and realized the environment of the exploratory analysis experiment, based on which, the granular computing based exploratory modeling method and experiment design based exploratory regulation mechanism were validated. For the minimizing of the mission completion time and the interaction between C2 organization individuals, a number of principles of the C2 organization design were proposed through exploratory analysis of measure of mission accomplishing time, with reference to cases of multi-branch joint operations.
